From Kicking Horse campsite to Emerald Lake is only a short distance. When the day crowds started to die down at 16:00, we kicked off the 5 km round lake hike.
We did not know which direction was better, clockwise or counterclockwise? Just as we were wondering, one couple came out of the woods and we followed their advice to go clockwise in the afternoon.
I guess this was the third time for us to be there. The first two visits were very brief, and this time it was indeed beautiful. We liked the colour of the water and the tranquility late in the afternoon. Everything was so clear and I believed I was breathing the freshest air from the mountains and the lake in the afternoon.
Well, we might go there again this summer and I am really looking forward to it.
