Hi guys, thanks for stopping by the channel again, it is very much appreciated as always. I did remember to tighten the cold speedfit elbow locking nut up at the end when I realised the bath cold had been turned off, I didn't get any footage because the tenant was talking to me at the time. I know a few of you will spot it. Anyways thanks all for watching and if you did enjoy the video make sure to hit the like button
Afternoon mate, just recently found your channel and been binge watching your videos. Love your work and the fact you show from isolation to repair. As a recently qualified plumber 40 years old.. big career change.. i only quoted my first private job yesterday I’m still very wet behind the ears working on my own and find your videos very helpful. Keep up the good work mate
Thanks James, Plumbing is a very enjoyable job but can be very challenging at time as well. Once you learn the basics you can apply those skills to have the confidence and ability to be able to fix most things. You never stop learning with plumbing, that's why I think I find it so enjoyable, if you have any questions or ever need any help feel free to message me and I will do my best to assist you, best of luck mate
I get jobs like that, normally about 4pm when I'm supposed to be finished for 4:30pm,cowboy fittings flexis and speedfit, but sometimes we have to use them.🤭😬🤣🤣
I'm not a massive fan of flexi's or speedfit but sometimes all you can do is a workable repair. Most landlords will not want to pay you to re pipe the whole bathroom just for one leak, all you can do is offer advise as to what follow up work may be required. Thanks for watching
Nice one , Tom , everyone does job differently, I usually tighten the flexi hose on a tap first , than I tighten the compression nut afterwards, gives you peace of mind if accidentally gets kinked, because liability insurance it’s not a game 😅
To be fair that is the best way of doing it mate, because this one was into a speed fit elbow in kind of turned with the fitting instead of kinking the flexi
The copper olives do seem to nip up a little bit better than the brass ones, I have a habit of robbing olives from my fittings so when you get them from the van none of them have olives inside
Pushfit has its place like you say, its got me out of a few situations where copper would be unworkable, its also quicker but does look awful when used on show, thanks for watching mate
Repairs under a bath are always troublesome I find. Them flexis look like cheap flomasta ones ! Good video Tom 👍 what jointing compound do you use mate ?
I think I was using the regin jointing compound on this video, my tub of v2plus is missing in action. Always tricky next to a bah, especially when the toilet is directly on the right making access more difficult, thanks for watching
Goods spot, I did tighten it up when I realised there was no cold water to the bath, I didn't get any footage because the tenant came in talking asking if everything was Ok, I should have made a note in the video but completely forgot, thanks for the support mate
@@PlumbLikeTom Tom , what's the point of all that pipe and fittings under the bath , the tenant can't isolate a leak without taking off the bath panel , just put a 300mm or 500mm flex from the copper to the taps , youve got isolation in the cylinder cupboard , much cheaper and quicker , and a lot less to leak in future , Steve
It defiantly does, I was holding out because the new model comes out this month that cuts twice as fast and will cut stainless pipe, the list price is an eye watering amount of money though so might have to wait and see
Yes mate, I think the tenant had turned everything off in a panic including the cold feed to the heating, I think they were just doing their best to prevent more damage to property, thanks for watching
Your not wrong mate, I need a new blade but the new model comes out next month so was waiting to buy that. I know I could use a normal pipe slice but the Milwaukee was just to hand so used that instead, thanks for watching
