I'm not here to start rumors, but I saw definitive footage of Tangerin from the O'rangers unlatching parts of the safety barrier during the race. I hope this "found footage" sparks a much needed investigation.
@@Nightenstaff Hey now, those kind of accusations are unfounded. What should be looked at are the actions of the other racers that might have caused Clementin's stoppage on the track. Coming from 20 to 7th is quite an accomplishment.
@@nriqueog He should had remained a lap down as he did not pass the lead marble prior to the red flag. Rewatching the incident, it seems that Clementin AND the other lead marbles had done something to the wall on the last turn.
I LIVE FOR THIS! Full disclosure I am a card carrying O’rangers supporter but this was one of the most exciting races I’ve seen. Way to never give up! This is why I’m a massive Clem fan. 🍊
I agree that it will cause some outrage, but surely not more than misty mountain. There the red flag was debatable at best, but here the clear plastic was in contact with the marbles on the belt. At full speed it could definitely pry a marble out sending back onto the track causing general and very preventable chaos. Unlapping clemantin is crazy though.
S1 R7, S2 R1, S2 R10, S5 R4 are all pretty controversial due to team getting screwed over due to a red flag. (If a red flag happens in the middle of the race, things like this do happen, but there should be something to prevent something like lapped marbles to regain to the lead lap at least. that's why this race has to be considered as controversial with addition to the screw over of YLI, STM, and YLW)
I wish that the lapped team simply wasn't allowed to rejoin from the standing start, as the improvement in place would have never been able to happen under standard race conditions.
Yeah, that was absolutely a blunder by the Jelle team. As good as they are at tracking stats they could at LEAST have compensated for the gaps when the race was stopped
@@Ragetiger1if you watch F1 which M1 is based off, when there is a yellow or red flag lapped cars or in this case marbles are allowed to overtake and join the lead lap, so yeah it's just how racing is
What worries me is that Yellow Eye has clearly had some issues - health? confidence? - in the last couple of seasons. This is exactly what they don't need.
@@christianellegaard7120 That's what I thought too it would've been more fair that way. I was rooting for Snowstorm, he was in 5th place but look what they did to my man ugh. Putting them in the start line again just changes everything so much
@@christianellegaard7120exactly man. Snowstorm went down 8 spots because that’s a marble who has insane top speed but seriously struggles when crowded out, and from the restart he was just getting beat up by everyone. But worst robbery is yli by a mile
As an O'Rangers fan, I appreciate the camera cutting away as Clem was getting to the part of the track that came loose on the following lap. So there is totally no proof that it was deliberate.
@@abwesenheit the reason he goes around the field to start in back is because you don’t want him restarting 4th and a lap back. Then he interferes with the leaders and it’s actually more unfair to the field because now he’s directly impacting who might win. Every racing league in the world does it this way because it’s fair
Ideally, the times would be calculated based on where they were pre-stoppage and where they ended, but the reality is, once everyone has to stop, there's no real good way of restarting unless you were somehow able to freeze physics and put everyone back in exactly where they were, speed, angles, and all. The very issue of having to stop to clear a hazard becomes its own "part of the race" and you have to race it just like any other. It's also a bit ridiculous that Clementin is allowed to just keep on rolling to a point of regaining a full lap and then ends up with a top-10 finish. Races suck sometimes.
They never even really mention it, either. Feels like a coverup to me. Where's the shot of the wall coming unseated??? We need answers on how this travesty happened. I don't even LIKE Yellow Eye and I'm upset for them.
If I'm Captain White Eye, I'm immediately putting this race under Protest. Almost a full second lead and then its announced to go to standing start. Not to mention twice Marbles got caught in the spikes. Hopefully Race Control does something about this.
Yep. I'm disgusted. Yellow Eye did some amazing work in the first 11 laps, and had that skilfully built lead taken away. There was no reason not to restart them from the lift and conserve - if approximately - the gaps. That effectively became a 6 lap race, which is not what anyone came here for.
Don't know why they reset the lineup. No one got caught up on the divider. They should have just stopped the conveyor belt and let the marbles start where they lay. All it did was kill Yellow Eye's momentum that was putting him far ahead and for sure, the top spot. Despite quite a few unfair moves in their history, CCE still push on through with their resilient spirit. Maybe ease off of them and give them a fair shake for once, geez!
No The savage speeders are having some off races there still the best and will play the Best Plus they have had some not good races in Marbla 1 before last year Showed the savage speeders are still the best and they’re just trying to go crazy for marble league 2025 but they still play good in marbla 1 S5 in and from now they will play good in everything and Win everything let’s go Savage speeders
Nereid is showing to be a promising, only his 2nd ever race and he won. Will he be the one lift the Oceanics team from the middle of the pack all the way to fight for championships?
@@nickdentoom1173 that's a whole different sentence - and with that i have to agree ... but your first comment is still absolute crap and utter nonsense!
What a roller coaster for Mallard today. Tough race but never had any doubt they would rescue it after the red flag. Maybe lost a bit at the end but can't be upset with that 6th spot.
Not happy with clementine influencing the front pack. That should be punished! Also Greg calling Yelloweye Redeye. Very understandable, Redeye is legend.
@@TROGDOR1009 actually that is how racing goes according to rules. A problem occured mid race that cannot be solved unless the interference of an outsider, which means, the race needed to be stopped. And that was exactly how they restart the race after them problem have been resolved. Regardless who benefited and who lost, these are the rules. But yeah... Looks like this season is going to be extremely fun!
As soon as I saw those spikes yesterday, I knew Clemintin was going to have trouble. Even as an O'Ranger fan (who knows they are past their prime) they should be relegated back to 20th and everyone else moved up 1.
I think that it's probably the size of the lead YLI had while STM was just up with the front of the pack, but also Yellow also got robbed too, as top spot to 8th is pretty devastating.
SPOILERS (CCE fan here): - - - Ok, Yellow Eye got screwed over HARD. I understand that you have to essentially restart the race after a red flag, but they had a near 3 second lead and had that taken away and lost the race because of it. I'm probably just being anal as a long-time CCE fan, but like... I'm not the only one who thinks that's unfair, right?
I understand. As a Thunderbolts fan, Shock was moving through the field pretty well until the red flag. A lap after the restart, Shock was in 15th. Not to mention Clementin...
I feel like this was some divine intervention because CCE were doing too good too early on. I mean, they still got P1 overall despite this setback. Last season they had a really lousy start and then performed much better in the later races. We will see what this season brings.
Also a CCE fan here and (not surprisingly) I agree. Yellow Eye had a tough go of it in Marble League this year and it was looking like there was a chance to start rebuilding momentum for them. But then all of that gets destroyed when M1 turns a 16 lap race into a 5 lap race.
Officially complaining to the race league. Wiping out a 3+ second lead with 5 Laps to go is wrong. JUSTICE FOR CCE! I will stand with my CCE in protest for the rest of the season.
@dreams6752 I was waiting for the yellow flag- but obviously hebgot dislodged by whoever was in last. We were finally competing this season, and then that happened. Absolutely fuming.
Oceanics and CCE rooter here. Nereid!!! I knew you had it in you! Amazing race for you, never fell out of the top 10. And for yellow eye… Yellow Eye got robbed really badly, 3 second lead lost due to that red flag. Stay strong cats. 🌊🌊🌊🌊❤️💙💛💚
Am I the only one that doesn't get the fact the race was stopped like it was? Yellow Eye had an absolutely commanding lead over the pack and had to be reset because of Momo's bad track design. If nothing else the Momos should be sanctioned for ruining such an intense race.
This is just standard procedure, it happened in other races such as Season 2 Misty Mountain, and while it wasn’t as bad here it was still unfortunate but understandable.
It feels just completely unfair for CCE and especially YLI. And seeing CLM finishing in top 10 even though not in competition from LAP 1. I understand this series is being a fun spin off of real F1 - but we cannot really simulate F1 with marbles during red flags. The belt should have restarted once the order was sorted. A standing restart is unfair not just for CCE but for every other. CLM should have been released ahead to complete a lap alone and once it boards the belt, the main pack could have been released. obviously handling this way still would have substantially reduce the gap, but it still gives a fair buffer to the lapped marbles. OR maybe to simplify. CLM should have been released once the entire pack passed the turn 1 /// any similar 1st safety marble line.
They should have used the belt instead of the normal start. Of course it's impossible to get the exact time that was between the marbles, but at least they could place them a few rows lower when there was a distance between the marbles.
SPOILER: Cerulean top 4 in each of their first 2 races. Cerulean never did well in the Momotorway up until this point. Keep up the momentum Cerulean. Royal needs to pick up the pace.
Shock was hampered the entire race by a lapped clementine, running top 10, then gets beat by clementine after the restart. A formal investigation needs to be launched!
I really liked Swifty's strategy: start in 14th, climb up to 9th, proceed to absolutely bomb it, and drop down to 19th. I'm not sure what is happening with the Savage Speeders this season, but it's been disastrous.
Spoilers . . . . . . To anyone saying yellow eye was robbed, watch any bit of racing and you will see that what the JMA did was right. Plus yellow eye isn't the first marble to have a red flag happen to them when they were leading
I get that they try to keep all the F1 rules, but there are some that need to be considered before implementing them. Not all rules are truly fair in marble racing
@number-kv8px it's racing. There are times you will feel it's not fair at all, but that's just the way it is. I don't think the JMA could have done anything, it will still feel unfair to some people. So they did the best thing by just sticking to the rules in irl racing
I'm a big +1 to this generally. (And thanks for the Spoiler block!) But I think something JMA could do to kinda double down on the racing analogies would be to write and publish racing regulations. That way it's known, on 'paper' and before the season starts what the rules are and how they will be enforced. Of course people will still argue with the rules ... as they do in other forms of sport ... but it will at least be clear there are rules and it will make situations like this feel more like bad luck than 'robbery' because you have confidence that it is how it would get resolved regardless of what marbles were involved. And hey the racing regs could even change from season to season to try and improve the racing. :)
I just realized that in both Nascar and Formula 1, lapped cars are allowed to go into lead lap (only the highest positioned lapped car in nascar though). So it actually makes sense that Clementin got the lucky dog/permission to overtake
I am also now aware of these rules in both Nascar and Formula 1 AND an O'Rangers fan, and I still don't care for it. JMA has more dignity than both of them .
I know it probably wasn't malicious, but Yellow Eye got so robbed there. It seems like they spent most of their energy establishing a multiple second lead, and were likely gonna take it easy for a few laps to recover and prepare to defend if someone caught up, and then the race gets stopped, and we restart from the blocks. I know it's not easy, but, I really wish there was some way that the race could have restarted without erasing all that effort.
I get everything with the restart and I think it was mostly fair, but the one thing I’ll say is that Clementin did not deserve that. He should have gotten auto 20. I think his finish needs to be rethought by the JMA
I'm Team ORangers all the way and I'm sorry, but that call by the officials was outright wrong. I don't care if that's how Formula 1 does it. Clementin should have been re-started half a lap after the rest, or re-started at the front but a full lap behind... imho.
That’s how racing works. Instead of restarting in the middle of the pack lap down, they get to go around and start at the back. Every series in the world does it this way.
it happens in F1 too, even during a yellow flag lapped cars are allowed to pass the saftey car and rejoin on the same lap as the rest at the back (don't know if this has changed since i last watched F1)
People hating on clementine don’t understand how racing works. You are allowed to unlap yourself and start at the back. You can’t have a standing start with a racer a lap down in the midfield. If you do that the lapped runner could cause contact with folks racing for higher positions
You can unlap yourself, but you still have to actually complete the lap. Clementin did not. Clementin ran one fewer lap than anyone else on the grid but was awarded 7th place
@Legault397 on a red flag everything is reset to 0 meaning even people that are lapped get to join the lead lap at the back of the field which they did here
Glad to see the safety crew working so diligently on this course. Things got shaken up but I feel like that's the nature of the sport. I think the biggest takeaway for me is that these racers ALWAYS make the most of every opportunity they get.
Call me a conformist, but I'm pretty happy with Yellow's performance. We were able to put on a good show! We stayed in third place for a long time, and although finishing eighth is not the same as finishing third, it's nothing to regret :D After all, each team has to adapt to the circumstances, no matter how anomalous they are. That's why I don't consider it unfair to have dropped in position due to the incident (now, "the Clementin thing" is... Debatable >->).
Definitely felt like this could have been handled better. Still love the Leauge, understand it’s a difficult situation and not quite sure of the solution. However it felt like a hard reset for everyone is just unfair to the athletes.
The problem is thats not fair to Clem though. Raced hard after the red flag. Like, if you punish Clem, you basically need to maintain the positions everyone had before the Red Flag was called, which means the rest of the race was pointless.
@@TROGDOR1009 I was under the impression that lapped racers maintain the position they are in when a red flag comes out; i.e. a racer that has been lapped by six other racers will restart the race in between the 6th and 7th place racers and still be a lap down. Am I incorrect about this?
Heartbroken for Yellow Eye. All that hard work shattered by the red flag. And I'm a little wary about dropping clementin's extra lap. Definitely should have been a better way of depicting everyone's progress at that moment. Maybe they should have employed the qualifying start gate and launched them one at a time based on the distance between them.
from a lap down due to their own mistake, to being granted a reset after the unexpected technical failure, to being resulted on 7th place. That is just not fair for the rest of the team. Should have just restarted the belt however they were positioned.
Look at Mallard taking advantage of the opportunity given. Unfortunately it took a red flag, but hey that’s racing. Clemenine also did great taking advantage of getting that lap back
My Reaction to the Race: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!
Consitently score points is the most important thing. A random pole does not mean Midnight Wisps have what it takes to win, a team just does not suddenly get better. But they improve as times passes, this p5 could prove to be the start of their growth
Hey, Jelle/Dion/Greg/JMA peeps - love the show! Really good stuff. I think the track design this season so far has been really good - the O'raceway was awesome, and I liked the idea of the spikes even though they ended up getting marbles stuck - probably something to work on next time. But can we please stop with the clickbait titles? I'm getting afraid that this season might be devolving into a mess of "incidents" like this, and I don't want that to happen - can we get some reassurance that the rest of the races will have as few of these "incidents" as possible?
