So this everyday now???😭

Cost cutting EVERYWHERE! Paying engineers less, letting workers go, overworking everyone. All for saving money and making shareholders happy! Thats why we will start getting more mishaps.

"Dear God, my school sucks. Please give us some new play equipment in our school yard." Next day: "Wow, thank you God for the giant slide! We love it!"

These greedy companies are cutting corners when it comes to maintenance to extend flying hours.

Thank goodness all 4 bolts are still in place..

Why are they not servicing these old aircrafts properly...why these incidents keep happening...

That 33 year old plane should’ve retired 3 years ago with a full pension, but due to inflation and rising cost, it had to keep working

At least someone was saving money on maintenance. Those C level bonuses don't come cheap and someone has to pay them.

They said traveling on the ground is not safer than flying, because of heavy sh*t falling off their planes.

It's gona take a major disaster with hundreds of people dead until they actually do somthing about these aircraft

I think I may want to take an extra 2-3 weeks and drive home next time I see my family. Yuk.

It's a Boeing. You don't need to say anything else. I am flying to Texas in June, and have selected flights NOT using Boeing planes.

To be fair, the same aircraft N176DN did continue on later that day and completed the flight to LA. I will be interested in the NTSB’s report on the incident.

With TSA I swore off flying, the planes are getting old and the experienced maintenance crews are retiring. I don't need a bunch of teen agers going thru my stuff.

Whenever the media catches a whiff of a type of story that brings in the most clicks they stick to it. This sort of stuff is not new or uncommon.

Airbus been real quiet

767s in service are over 20 years old. Some have been flying since the late 90s. No car can even last that long. Boeing 787s and Boeing 737 MAX 9 (the longest 737 Max in production) are to replace those 767. Due to recent quality issues, Boeing is far behind in delivering their orders forcing Airliners to delay the retirement of their old aircraft.

What? Again? I miss the days where fear of flight had been an irrational fear. Both Boeing and Airlines ought to experience some sort of overhaul.

maintenance is a problem

When I flew in around the year 2000, people used to chat with their neighbor on the plane (no ipads back in the day and iphone not out yet). Do people still talk nowadays? I’m assuming No.

At Boeings Everett assembly plants there are billboards that show the planes disassembled and tells the different countrys where the thousand of parts are made. The slid, the engine cover, the landing gear, and the door plug. ???

I think the FAA needs to increase the safety standards. Safety has to be the number one priority in the aviation industry

For all of you suddenly concerned with aviation safety I will say that flying is still and will always be many hundreds if not thousands of times safter than driving (every aviation enthusiast/expert/engineer etc. will tell u this). Ever since the two MAX8 crashes the media has seen aviation as an easy way to attract views. Half the time they don't know what their taking about (Like wth is even Tarmac why do they all report Taxiways, Ramps, Aprons and Runways as just Tarmac, how hard is it to say that the plane had to wait on a taxiway rather than tarmac). (Anyways back to the point)...A simple go around after a hard landing is reported as an EMERGENCY that put the lives of the passengers at risk. If the media want to know how properly report on aviation then they should stop exaggerating on minor accidents like a tyre falling of a plane or a blown slide saying that it was an emergency. If you want to report aviation correctly... please learn that Emergency Landing is NOT the same as a precautionary landing. If the media wants to correctly report on aviation they should actually hire someone with expertise on the topic who knows how aviation works and both the correct terms and knowledge to report effectively.

Everything keeps getting worse . Now it’s the airlines.

I flew this aircraft and I think it's past it's service age IMO. It was a loud and dry aircraft.

Somebody at Delta maintenance base in Atlanta is going to get seriously screamed at if not fired over this. Aircraft schedule for maintenance is for a light or heavy maintenance check 14 days the other takes 28 before the aircraft is rescheduled for service and depending on what's indicated on the scheduled maintenance report they will literally take an aircraft apart and put it back together. The team to do the slide maintenance missed a step or two or didn't tighten securing bolts properly Delta didn't have a problem with working with the FAA once they got the report they're not going to hide anything on this period, in fact some staff are seriously pissed over what could have happened
