I had two male cats with chronic cystitis. We just had to take them to the vet occasionally to have their anal glands excised, although we called it having their butt squeezed. They lived a full and happy life apart from the occasional butt squeezing. We also put them on special food called C/D. I don’t know if it’s still around because I have had female cats ever since.

I am so glad you are both such attentive and caring pet parents. I am not a medically trained person, however, Austen and Jasper’s breeder was very intentional in his instructions not to neuter them before sexual maturity at about 6 months. Many shelter kittens are neutered when they are weaned and this may result in problems later. Because of the excellent care and diet Momo gets this is a manageable condition. He is very fortunate he ended up living with you! He liked to ride in front and kept his Springer Spaniel sister Holly in the back seat, with an occasional swat. Today all my pets travel in carriers! Ciao!

When you feed Momo put water in his food and mix it all up. Make sure there’s lots of water in there.
