I think at some point he could have been a bit more gentle with the playing, but overall I think he did an extraordinary job.

Well, too fast: I agree. Ungracefull: here and there, I agree. But there are also wonderful moments, full of refined "grace". Regards, Geert Dehoux, pianist.

Typical for those years: even Mozart's Sonatas were performed often 'too fast' and with only a little bit of emotion. A pity.

@@stephanjwilliams : Yes, it's self-indulgent in its way, and the sonic gravity and gestural significance that Clementi doubtless intended are simply jettisoned in favor of "brilliance." Compare Maria Tipo -- and others. - -
