Others can write music. Others can play. But no one plays and writes like Emily Bear. Her playing is just.. I guess enchanting to me. The music is plenty good enough to just listen to but watching her play it adds a lot. I too have been following Emily since she was a child. Fantastic!
The thing about Emily is she put in the work, got the education, learned the skills. At eleven she's learning how to score film at NYU and classes at Juilliard. Her natural abilities scored her world renowned mentors like Quincy Jones. While world class opportunities have presented themselves, it wasn't because she was entitled or privileged. Well, perhaps privileged in the sense that she had family who, when she demonstrated at 18 months her talent had the means and knowledge to provide the right environment to nurture her genius. But she rode on no ones coat tails
I get so excited (and sometimes teary) when I watched this. I only cared about the Grammy's this because I wanted you two to win. You would have thought I was family with the way I cheered when you won!! Me and my friends and family were thrilled or you. You two deserve every accolades.
I really feel like Netflix would make a ton of money from the musical. People will want to go see it, and they can release a pro shot after the whole Brigerton series is over. I don't know why they haven't jumped at the opportunity.
I squealed like a freaking child watching this, I sang along with Abigail, shouted "YES, YOU BETTER SHOW OFF EMILY," and then I squealed some more. We literally watched y'all create this album on TikTok and then you guys won a freaking Grammy!! I am SO happy for y'all, we all are!!
I've followed Emily Bear since a tiny child, like many. She's a musical phenomena. Mozart in this generation. I'm so thrilled for Emily finding such an amazing musical partner so the world can see her brilliant talent and together they can both shine!!
I'm so happy for Emily's success. Having seen her master classical and jazz, study composition, orchestration and film scoring, it's terrific to see all her years of hard work paying off in such a spectacular way.
I have watched Emily Bear all the way up from childhood. Every year something new, something beautiful. She has a massive memory. I've watched her play a George Gershwin concert with a full orchestra for 15 minutes straight on a piano "with no sheet music in front of her". By the time she was nine she had paired up with Quincy Jones, who also studied at Berklee School of music in Boston. On top of everything else she has a very special mom and dad, and grandmother! A Grammy Award at age 20! I rest my case.
You two are icons of the future. You are my icons as musicians, as composers, and as general people. There will never be enough love, and you both deserve everything coming your way. ❤️
I can’t wait until they’re able to fully disclose what their upcoming projects are! We know they’re working on a Broadway show and two movies (one for Marc Platt and one for Margot Robbie) but I’m dying to know what those projects are!
I am constantly blown away by Emily's ability to turn a story into music. Her talent is incredible and I cannot wait to see what she and Abigail will come up with next. As a female musician (piano), it so touches me to see women become more empowered in this field dominated by men. Great job, ladies! I will be buying that songbook VERY soon!
Every time I think about what you guys have achieved in the past year or so I can't help but feel emotional. You girls are such an inspiration to me, I hope to meet you someday! From an aspiring singer/songwriter
It's hard for her to sing Daphne's part live because she uses a breathy tone and so lets go of a lot of air at once. And yet she managed to keep up. How?? Abigail's voice truly is a wonder of nature
Really love the passionate vocal melisma on “burn” and the expressive piano accompaniment. Congratulations on this incredible win-a true inspiration to fellow aspiring musicians! 👏💐
I really thought that you would be a concert pianist, but I can tell by this performance that this path is where you are supposed to be. BRAVO for your perseverance. . . both of you!
I am so proud of you guys! I watched the unofficial Bridgerton musical from making! And I’m in love with your music! And congratulation to Grammy Winning ❤️
I watched All your live Instagrams watching the album take place.. It was so entertaining, so much fun & mostly so inspiring... And then you went and Won A GRAMMY 🎶🏆🎉❤️ I got instant goosebumps and a lump in my throat listening to your acceptance speech x I cannot wait to see what comes next! Congratulations to you both 🥰🥰
I love and am so proud of Emily and Abigail 😭 but also omg Emily is 20? She's younger than me?! And Abigail is just a little bit older than me?! I am constantly amazed
I remember first discovering Emily when I wasn't long out of university myself, and she must only have been around 8 at the time. As I recall I felt a little insecure that a child so young could have such a profound gift, even as I was moved by the performances and found your thoughts on the composing process at the time quite interesting. Still, I made a mental note to follow along, and it does put a smile on my face to see you having gone from strength to strength over the years. I have mixed feelings regarding the Bridgerton/Netflix controversy, though. The award was well earned, but hopefully you can avoid any such pitfalls in the future.
Emily is a child prodigy, but still an immature musician. Only Life can make her "grow up" and "stabilize". The gift in her has to grow up as a tree. She not only has "the best yet" to bring forth, but the "best yet" to amaze the world. One day she will come with a song that is a world hit, even though that has not happened yet. Maybe that will come not as she thinks... maybe it will come in the most simple and humbling way. I think she needs to "relax" and "hear" from that place that music comes from, which is beyond us all. There is no "deceit" or "effort" in that place. It is simply "given". Take care Emily. God loves you.
I’m ecstatic beyond words that Yes! Bravo!Bellissimo!! ❤❤ that these two hearts are collaborating. They are jaw-dropping gorgeous inside and out beautiful hearts blessed by God with such enormous talent. These two are already stars. Watch with God’s going to do with these two.. Love you girls!!
Im currently going through the Emily bear rabbit hole and I’m so confused. She is so versatile. I started off with her jamming with Jesus himself and then her playing classical at 6, to her pop music stuff to a freaking musical? She’s like the Johnny sins of music
I hope future artists who wanna be in the music industry wanna be an independent artists and do it themselves because artist who are signed to labels don’t have a whole lot of rights to their music and a chunk of the profit they make from their music goes to their label
Abigail is 23 but looks older than my 30 year old cousin o.O Why are teens and young adults trying to look 10 years older than they are? Enjoy being and looking young and your age!
The advice to young people would be; start playing piano at 2, start composing at the age of 4, then attend all the most prestigious and recognized musical schools and tutoring programs throughout your entire childhood. Have your own touring jazz trio starting at age 9, then go from there...
Just a computer and electronic keyboard ? :) Emily bear is top-tier qualified composer spent decades to master her skills. Is it in the room with computer ? And this is not "just computer" This is professional industry-grade production level home studio with equipment on 50k+ :) Microphone is more expensive than most of regular cars :) Composers create orchestral soundtracks at home with "just a computer" for _years_. Studios also create music with "computer" and few extra time-saving steps for recording several musicians/instruments what's redundant in that case. This is full-scale studio with best possible composer and singer.
