/isn't it lovely, all alone?/ DISCLAIMER: this film is not mine. this song is not mine. this video is for entertainment purposes only; all credit goes to the original owners/creators.
Actually it is really symbolic. During every marriage rehearsal or ceremony in this film, the groom says something like “with this ring you are mine”. To me it seemed really materialistic. The whole world of the living is based on a idea that marriage is just a transaction which enables one to live comfortably and have a respectable social status. Nobody really loves the person they are about to marry. Everything is so gloomy and dark. Take a look at Victoria’s weeding ceremony and you can see a small weeding cake and awful food being served. Everything there looks fake and unappealing. Emily goes against this practice. She truly loves Victor, but she does not want to own him. That is why she says:”you are not mine”. Which is a total opposite of every single relationship in this film. She gives Victor a choice she never had, for she died before she ever got to know what true love is. She is not selfish and does not want Victor to give up life for her. This line hit me hard as well.
@@mariafengier5084 I agree but besides that it's symbolic, Emily's dialogue can be taken literally too. "I love you Victor, but you are not mine" also tells us that Victor is really meant to be with Victoria since from the start, and Emily cannot force Victor to be hers. If you look at it, poor Emily was never loved back by Victor. He even used her for the sake of comforting himself when he lost hope because Victoria was getting married to Barkis. So the line both being symbolic and literal also shows us that Emily deserved someone much better than Victor and even Barkis. She was used by both men for their own sake, and that is just too painful to watch. 😭😭
Emily deserves so much more than what she got :( i’m happy she didn’t end up with Victor because he didn’t truly love her.. the only reason he was going to marry her was because he felt bad... Emily deserves someone who truly loves her 🥺💜💜
@@crazyfreddy1014 Victor and Victoria were meant to be married and to be together. But also Lord Barkis recognizes the women Victor was with before they were out in the world of the dead.
@Stephanie Limon The old skeleton told Emily if she wants Victor to be her husband he has to drink the dead poison drink so that he could be her dead husband.
Even though victor was ready to sacrifice his life for her, Emily still knew that they weren’t for each other. What victor felt for Emily in a short time was not love, he only felt her heart because he felt bad.
but at the end of the day, emily just wanted to feel loved and appreciated. that was all that she wants. she was just a young, naive girl who fall in love to the wrong one. and now she leaves all alone, only to herself.
Emily deserved somebody to love her, to treat her as a bride and a partner. She wanted to be a bride so bad, she mistook the idea of Lord Barkis for love. Though Emily and Victor might have not belong together, they do look perfect for each other. He was hesitant, while she was sure. He was dull, and she was colours. The right person, at the wrong time.
When I saw the movie, I was filled with pain and thought why good people always feel bad , I mean Emily is really kind she didn't want another girl to feel the same pain , she deserves better 🖤
imagine how heart broken Emily is from being murdered by someone that she thought loved her and victor saying "Why cant you understand that was a mistake i would never marry you!" 😔🤚 i just want to give Emily a hug
"I will never marry you!" "I love you victor..But you're not mine.." "A Toast to emily! always the bridesmaid never the bride." "He'll never leave me here.. He promised that he will tell his parents to meet me!"
“I have spent so long in the darkness I almost forgotten how beautiful the moonlight is” I love this quote and Emily. The world has been cruel to her and she still sees the beauty of it.
I watched corpse bride when I was around 5-6 years old. My sister passed away when I was 3, and as time went on, I realised this movie was my coping method for my grief. When she turns into butterflies at the end, it really connected with me and I balled my eyes out everytime and always thought of that moment as my sister. This movie will always have a place in my heart-even though it has become a trend.
Wow i love this so much!!! This movie came out in 2005 the year i was born and when i saw it for the first time i was in tears. I love older animated movies because there is just so much more emotion and deepness to the stories! I really love this edit and love the movie!!❤❤
I don't believe Emily loved Victor, I think she loved the idea of having a husband and being married. She wanted that love from a man who didn't betray her and the fact that victor said his vows and woke her from her slumber is what basically set her free. Victor was willing to make Emily happy and die for her and when she realized that, she got what she always wanted love, happiness and the truth about her death.
emily was so beautiful, she deserved so much better than why she got. she was just a teen yearning to be loved after so long. she continued to give up her happiness for everyone else and it wasn’t fair on her but she still did it. oh to tell her she was doing well i would give anything.
@@worship6201 That's what I'm saying. It's like when people tell you to date someone JUST because they think you would look cute, not because you work.
@@worship6201 They're not angry at Victor for not loving Emily for "no reason", they're angry at him because they "felt bad" for Emily 🤡 Like, if y'all really felt bad for Emily, why'd y'all force a man who doesn't love her romantically to marry her? :/
This made me cry, Emily deserved so much better. I wish Victor was a better person. It would have been better, and there’s nothing wrong with Victoria. This was a great video, thank you for making this. You’re very talented. ♥️
emily was such a beautiful character and i feel like victor took advantage of emily. she deserved so much better and she also deserves a chance with victor
I saw this comment on tiktok saying they don't deserve each other and btw people don't hate on Victoria because she and Victor are meant to be each other Emily and victor doesn't deserve each other Emily is only Inlove with the idea of being married She couldn't let go of him because of that vow and the trauma she suffered when she is alive She also want Victor to be with her in the afterlife But she is completely aware that Victor likes Victoria but he was devastated to know that Victoria is married She deserves all the love in the world But victor is not a suitable for that task
I feel bad for what happened to that poor girl but in a way yes I agree with victor no one would want a corpse as a bride but it would've been different if she was alive i believe
i love this movie i used to always watch it when i was younger and i didn't understand it. i haven't watched it in ages and now ive seen this i cant believe i never understood what it meant.. i love emily shes stunning and deserves the world!
y'all Emily deserves sooo much more like she needs someone that will stay side by side with her she is such a wonderful person she deserves the world :')
