I feel like the Armorer uses her hammers so much that any other weapons would feel alien to her. She knows those tools like a soldier would know their rifle and side arm. So of course she wouldn't trust her skills with any other weapons than her hammers. That, and I feel like her vocation means so much to her that she would want to fall in battle holding the tools of her trade as well.
