That was early Em and fully Slim Shady. His relationship with Kim was heavily volatile. He knew it. Obviously wrote pretty dark stuff about it. We all love to trash ourselves and our own lives, but still get pissed when someone else says something that may shine light on the reality of it all. Christina was pretty innocuous with her comment, but you can just tell the way she said it would have rubbed Em the wrong way because it had a tone of mocking even if that wasn’t the intention. So, there you go. And they knew damn well that having her give the award was going to cause drama. Em wasn’t going to be soft back then, so you are going to get that side of him walking up looking pissed.
Eminem looks more stressed that he's gotta accept the award off Christina than even happy hes won! I love him & grew up with his music. But I remember all the controversy he caused back then & as much as he stood up like a man & backed his words up. Sometimes you could see they set him up to make some high rating cringe tv!
@@lollypops2229 according to his book, he's been stressed because he has worked so much and went through some rough times (8 Mile, Eminem Show, touring, divorce, gun charge), and before Christina presented the award, he got into a little fight with a dog puppet and with Moby who sat 2 rows behind Eminem, you could definitely see him after she announced the winner, yeah, Mtv wanted to see some drama happen but it didn't, then Eminem and Christina squashed the feud and hugged afterwards

1. On the eminem's early record he had a song called kim about his wive in the trunk while he's talking about a heated arguement. 2. She was hosting a mtv video show and picked his video, "my name is." only to point out and talk about how he's married to the girl that he talks about killing on his record. 3. Eminem was not happy about it, and then he came out with the real slim shady and one o' the lyrics in the song say, "put me on blast on mtv, yeah i think hes married to kim, Hee Hee." He mimicks her voice in the song, reerring to the mtv event. 4. Then she announced the award for best song, at an awards show and she presented the award that he won, for that song. 5. Eminem won and put her in her place
