It's tough! but Imma go with Aftermath. personally I think Dre is the most important figure in Hip-Hop history. u take away Dre, u take away a lot of people. Not to mention Eminem's longevity!! The man drop surprise albums 20+ years in his career and still takes the #1 spot and his impact is worldwide, he literally inspired people here in Africa to rap. u can't say that about Wayne.

@magshype
@magshype Год назад
biggest issue with this is, people who grew up during up 80's 90's like myself it's not even close, very age dependent but i think from a completely non biased perspective aftermath still win by a big margin, NWA where game changers in hiphop, the chronic was game changer, 50 and em both made hiphop become a lot more mainstream, also keep in mind, as someone who grew up around 15+ guys in my group of friends, not 1 of us liked wayne at all, drake was considered kinda corny and known as the guy who uses ghostwriters etc, nicki well nicki was different, she was legit af so can't say nothing about her. In hindsight nowadays i listen to both wayne and drake they made/make great music, but during the "hiphop" days when you had nothing but monsters on the mic, pac biggie wu tribe called quest roots, the list is endless, dre was in that convo, so was em, i mean em's first album was his best in a lot of people's minds, when wayne and drake came out, they was considered the weaker rappers in the list of rappers back then, jayz, nas, redman, cyprus hill. Good conversation though and an interesting one
@dannybtherapper6235

@@dannybtherapper6235 how can you say wayne made rappers step there bars up when we had people like mf doom, redman, em, mos def and such around before wayne even began rapping? i get it, you like wayne, i do too but this whole narrative that wayne is mount rushmore and one of the absolute best with bars is the dumbest shit ever, he has never been as technical as people make out, again he is a great rapper but people claiming he was top of the top is a joke, mf doom would run rings around him for days amongst many other rappers. Again "non" biased" here. I actually listen to wayne over doom all day but im still a realist.

It's pretty close, depends on the criteria, on my country (Argentina) Dre, Eminem were known way before Drake even was in the game (and even when Lil Wayne was at the peak of his powers he didn't have half the reach of Eminem), nowadays Drake and Nicki are a lot more influential than 50 or Dre, but you can still hear some bangers from the 2000's once in a while, and Eminem has probably on sales alone, the same as Wayne and Nicki combined so... I like all these artists so I think it's a draw. Definitely like more Aftermath music, and we are not counting Kendrick, which is probably gonna be as big as Drake someday, and his lyrics are dope. Edit: forgot to say but 8-mile basically opened the idea to start rapping in public spaces here, to a lot more people, it was done by a minuscule amount of people, but since that movie came out a lot more people were interested in trying it.

They put Wayne over Em for Lyricism? Where is Wayne's match-up for a song like "Stan" when it comes to lyricism and impact? That song alone put a word in the dictionary. Also, Dre's influence goes back to NWA that basically invented gangster rap and he was instrumental in Snoop Dog's and Em's career and yet they say Drake has a bigger impact? That is the problem with younger fans....They were not actually there to witness Dre, Eminem and 50's accomplishments firsthand. These guys sent ripples through the entire industry WORLDWIDE like nothing else before them in the rap genre. And let's not forget who is in the Rock Hall of Fame and also had a hugely successful movie in 8 mile. Where is the equivalent with Young Money?

Sir !! Wayne is definitely a better rapper over Em when it comes to rap ! The thing is Lil Wayne doesn’t write he freestyles , so with that being said you can’t even put Lil Wayne in the lyricist category , but you can put Wayne as the best RAPPER ALIVE !!! Nobody is gonna say turn on that Eminem honestly . Em is a good rapper, but it’s the beat of choice while rapping on there that’s not tasteful musically . One definite song I can listen to with a feature of Em is “Majesty” Nicki Minaj ft Eminem . He killed that track and it’s more of a better choice of music ! Em is a Biggie to HIPHOP , he tells stories . Yes he has great punchlines, bars, and creativity in what he spits , but he’s not a better punchline, bar heavy, and metaphor spitter than Lil Wayne . It is what it is .

Think of it like this: Nicki is 🐐 level in her lane. Wayne is 🐐 🐐 level. Drake is 🐐 level. Em is 🐐 🐐 level. Dre is 🐐 level in his lane. 50 is OG, high class level. Comparing impact on the industry, longevity, technical ability, errytin YM wins. Impact of Dre is freaking massive on the industry. Eminem is a beast but there ain't nobody saying I'm doing shit like this because of Em. He's kinda in his own lane. Even the white rappers ain't like him. The case with 50 is that he had a window and after that ... Lil Wayne basically changed the rap game. The look, the swagger, and even the way peeps rap. Even fkn names of artists man. It's like there's rap before Wayne and after Wayne. Drake is the model hybrid hip-hop star. He's kinda of like the hip-hop MJ in terms of popularity now, mostly due to his pop tendencies. His impact is quite fkn obvious. Nicki overall is the greatest female rapper of all time so that speaks for itself. Longetivity: Wayne - High level since 1999 Drake - High Level since 2009 Nicki - High level since 2009 Dre since before I was born till now, though now it's just the production aspect Em since like 96 50 for like a span of what 8 years Technical ability: Em: goated Dre: top level 50: high level Wayne: goated Drake: goated Nicki: goated

You also have to talk about Kendrick and others signed to Aftermath, artists signed to Shady too. Now if it’s a convo about hits then you gotta give it to YM. You’re literally talking about 2 different generations and you could easily argue Wayne, Drake and Nicki wouldn’t even have had the opportunity to have that kind of impact if the foundation wasn’t laid by Dre, Em and 50. Cuz back in 03 aftermath didn’t have a miss. Then again after Wayne took over Em dropped Recovery and blew back up again. But trying to deny Wayne nicki and Drake is kinda crazy too. It’s also different 3 artists vs a producer, a business man and em does everything produces and writes. The other 3 are specifically artists. Idk it’s closer than you think. Y'all cant considering dre's work as artist because with aftermath is getting executive producer so! The opposite is between Eminem,50 cent, Kendrick Lamar & The game with documentary Vs Drake Wayne Tyga! Aftermath WINS AS FUCK!

Aftermath makes it easier for YM,. Em alone burned the "bridges" that made hip-hop better known throughout the world (I say the world not only in hiphop community,). The man who has the most views on your whole reactions catalog is "Impact". Then, one more thing you forgot; Kendrick was and still Aftermath LMAO!!!

If you took aftermath trio out you're taking away majority of hiphop, like Kendrick Lamar, J Cole, Royce etc. Even Drake ans Nikki was influenced by Eminem in the beginning of their career. But if you take YM trio out you'll only be missing a few un important portion of hip hop , like Travis Scott, Lil Baby, 21 savage etc. As for sales Em alone clears the YM trio. For Lyricism, and technical aspects Em alone mopes the YM trio. Hits are arguable. Popularity is easily aftermath, the only rapper even in that convo is Drake whereas Aftermath all three of them are household names. Aftermath records clears imo.
