The only other rapper I've ever heard who impacted me like Em is Tupac. Tupac was a black male from the inner city who could make a white kid from the suburbs feel everything he was saying. I'm 24 now but got in to Emimem legacy on age of 15. Readed and watched a lot of his history. He is the GOAT (for me personally). His music helped me to overcome a lot of shit. He didn’t dumb down his own shit. Back then em was not about technicality or metaphors and stuff. He was all about wild and insane and direct. Provoking people, creating controversy and not caring about anything. That’s why everyone loved him. He was acting like everyone wants to act but can’t because of society and rules and stuff. He still do it in a certain level but back then he was hungry. And at one point he even believed he really is his persona, slim shady. The crazy white dude on drugs and alcohol, swearing and telling everyone to F off, pistol whipping bouncers, standing up against Suge, against the government, against everyone. And then he fell. Drugs got him. But he was out of it. Had a last insanity glimpse on relapse but then world got soft and judgemental. Got judged and criticized. He also was not the insane blonde violent white dude. He matured, thought about his past self as a person in severe pain and screaming for help, even apologised on family and enemies he felt he should not had come at, then world didn’t respect his humbling behaviour and opening of his heart and he received backlash and then remembered who he was and told everyone to F off, proving himself once again and after all that, we look forward on the new album. The white dude is a living legend. We are lucky to be here while he is here. People will say a lot of shit when he will be gone but everyone knows what Eminem means. And everyone will know. And as I like to say, you can’t compare him with anyone. Dude created his own level. People first have to try to get to his level and if they do that, then they can start thinking about getting higher. If there is such thing.
