Love this interview! What LL said at the end about art & timing is SO true because for example when I first heard Relapse I wasn’t crazy about it & now it’s one of my all time favorite Eminem albums. I think a lot of times artists make something that’s just ahead of its time & the rest of the world has to catch up 🤷🏻‍♀️

But it was Their mutual love, knowledge and respect for the genre and eachother, and Ems just immense respect, admiration, appreciation and homage to one of the true goats, Mr. Going Back To Cali LL Cool J, one of his heros and greatest inspirations, is what it's truly all about. This is what we need more of in this genre. And just in humanity in general. I never knew that Ad-Rock was that instrumental in LL's start up in hip hop. Live and learn. I've been on a Eminem interview binge and watching so many in a row kind of shows a pattern, which whether its intentional and planned or if's just his personal persona, it definitely works. He starts out complimentary and knowledgeable of his host and effectively makes him a fan in awe instead of a super star and sets a good tone right from the beginning. It seems sincere to me and I'm sure that a benefit to Em by taking this approach is it makes it much more unlikely that the interviewer is going be negative in his approach in asking questions. I haven't seen any bad interviews that he has been. Good stuff...

But hearing these stories how Em met Dre and the Fat Joe story just makes me love this man that much more!!!!!

It's sad but most don't recognize the moments they are living in and the significance of the time. Being a youngster in the mid 80's and then in your early teens in the late 80's going into the 90's when this hip-hop and rap shit was blowing up and you just get so wrapped up in it. It became a way of life. Words can't explain the impact it had on us both black and white.
