This is one song that gives me chills every time, especially around halfway into the third verse. While it's partially because of the conviction in his voice, I think it's the production that really hits me, when the strings come in heavy followed by the piano melody, it's darkly beautiful.

Eye of the Tiger is a basically a metaphor. Basically it's a person who is intensely focused and confident. Someone who is cold and fierce with a "never say die" attitude.

I don't have the greatest delivery or lyrics but Hip hop and trying to freestyle occupied my time after the clinic. So, in other words, hip hop saved me from depression and paranoid delusions. You should listen to Paul’s podcast with Porter. He made beats for Em & realised he needed to remove sounds to bring out Em being an instrument on the beat. The more space the more Em used it

Also, just one more thing... I was a music major in college so this may be confusing, but I'm pretty sure he starts one of those triplet beat as a 'pick up beat' basically starting the first vocal triplet on beat 4 of the bar, and then ends the last triplet on beat 4 of the last bar...I know, that kind of confusing... but it's just shows his crazy ability.
