“Kim” is a fucking masterpiece People don’t like it because it invokes negative feelings from beginning to end. But that’s art. It isn’t always supposed to be funny or impressive. Sometimes it’s dark. I think he topped it with “Darkness”, lyrically/technically speaking. But this song makes me physically feel repulsed still to this day. Incredible
And it's cathartic, he probably felt he had to write that song, same as bonnie and clyde and cleaning out my closet or headlights/bad husband and probably Not afraid too.
@@pierocignetti8959 headlights hits me right in the feels every single time. Her forgave her, but kept his boundaries. Our little shady is growing up so fast 😢
There's a difference between simple music and art, young'un. An entire 3 movies saga can be created based on the emotions of those 4 something minutes Em raps on Kim. You might not like it as a track, as something you'd bump in your car or on your own when getting high and livin the good life, but you cannot deny how content loaded and full of emotion the track is, more emotion and more content than the latest album of 99% of the rappers currently active.
Donno man, at times it feels like I'm watching those scenes from american psycho where he plows those chicks and all he does is admire himself in the mirror while flexing and winking and pointing at himself. One of my favorite verses, from way back in 2007: If we gotta dumb down our style and ABC it, then so be it 'Cause nowadays these kids, jeez Don't give a shit bout lyrics All they wanna hear is a beat and that's it Long as they can go to the club and get blitzed Pick up some chicks and get some digits And the DJ's playing them hits Oh this my jam, this my shit We don't know a word to a verse All we know is the chorus 'Cause the chorus repeats the same four words for us And the songs ginormous, the whole formula's switched 'Cause we don't know anymore, what are hits Is it the beat, is it the rap Is it a finger snap or the same 808 clap And how do we adapt and get TRL votes When 13 year olds control the remote And Ashley's got a brand new nose We gotta put some new emphasis on our syllables
Ditto. Except sophomore for me. This was right before I got my license and Napster started poppin so I tape recorded the highly-edited radio version that KUBE93 broadcast at midnight. Haha those were in the days of tapes, where skipping a single song was like a 1min+ process, let alone now where nobody listens to albums and only playlists. Which I believe has enabled these trash mumble rappers to get away with uninspired music and little talent... it's much harder to overlook when hear 17 of their songs that aren't a greatest hits.
One of the most iconic albums ever is Dr. Dre - Chronic 2001. It’s just a vibe. It has Eminem, Snoop, Mary J Blige and a bunch of others on multiple songs and literally every song is good. There’s a reason why Dr. Dre had the Super Bowl half time dedicated to him..his beats are the best in the industry and his artists are too! It’s an classic album!! You should check it out!
There is Hip hop as in "rap", and then there is Hip Hop as "art". This album is one of the highest expressions ever of the second type of Hip Hop. It falls into that very, very rare category of Hip hop albums like Illmatic, Rakim's Paid In Full, Mos Def's The Black Album, etc, that are art. Yeah, MMLP is a fantastic album, with amazing story-telling like in Stan, or with lyrical masterpieces like "the Way I Am", and fantastic(although horryfying) concept pieces like "Kim.. But it's not a simple album. It's not rhe kind of album that you jam in your car(well, except for maybe The Real Slim Shady) or listen to at the club. This is Hip Holp as "art". People don't understand this. This is not Playboi Carti or Yung Thug, folks.
found this today and bro love the sitting in the car reaction feels like Im there listening bumpin in the car w ya , very cool. Hearing the neighbours passing prolly scared half to death lmaoooo
Yea now going back into it Stan is definitely 10/10 the story telling on there was crazy I heard that was a true story too right? If so it definitely gets a 10/10
Homeboy cut out Sticky's " no, no ,NOOO, life's a bitch...never leave a shred of" bars. One of the dopest schemes on the album and this has been my favorite album for 23 years so that tells me all I need to know about his judgement in music. Wtf?
Sticky's verse is probably the only verse that i heard from a rapper on eminems shit that i thought , yeah, he murdered this track. That whole delivery man. I love to know how that link up happened.
So apparantly its his first time hearing album, but on the first song gives it away that its not wheb he starts singing along with eminem "pull you to this bullet and out it through you"
@@Thomas-we5cy free speech is only guaranteeed in the constitution in America, private companies can do whatever. Cmon man, this is taught in middle school.
Uh ohhh you said “not that bad”😂, I’ll check it out I have more albums ahead I have to do like recovery, people said get rich or die trying by 50 cent, & I still have to finish the slim shady
Only reason I say it’s not that bad because during that time he was really messed up on drugs and there were some songs that got leaked so he had rush a few more songs on the album. But do the deluxe version of it because there would have been 3 songs on the album that got leaked
Dude that album is a classic to me maybe not a fantastic album but definitely a classic you will have fun every time you listen to it, I think Em wanted to make more club bangers and this album has more club bangers than any other of his album
The original video got blocked so I had to cut some parts out only the beginning songs I normally listen to the full songs tho I just really wanted to be able to upload on RU-vid Instead of Rumble because it’s a highly anticipated video
See I like the songs on here too but I just really really like the Eminem show my rating are saying Marshall Mathers is better but the Eminem show has me in a headlock right now still listening till this day lol
@@steven1479I get that yo, Stan and Kim are more of an acquired taste, Kim is a mald song, like heavy metal. But I don’t really know what to say about Stan because that’s the song that got me into Eminem, lol
Pretty sure Christopher Reeve was doing jumps on a horse, its a whole sport, can't remember the name. Sometimes the horse will stutter before the jump and send the rider over the top, sending them flying onto their head and brraking their neck. Its a very dangerous sport, people get paralyzed very often from a skittish horse when doing the jumps.
@@TheSnakeYouCanTrustand Eminem show? The first 3. It’s always the first 3. Seasons of tv, trilogy’s of movies then everything after always seems to suck or at least not quite live up. But anyways nah your wrong too lol because it’s STARIGHT FXKN FLAMES MY FAVOURITE OF ALL TIME EVERY SINGLE TRACK even obscure ones like bitch please 2 and remember me. Love em.
Its barely even a song, and that's the point. It's supposed to be abrasive and intense... To me it's more of an art piece than a song. It's fucking incredibly intense but i wouldn't want to listen to it
Just a fyi, he didn’t tell her to breathe at the end of “Kim”, he told her to “bleed” lol “Kim” is a brilliant work of art. It’s his delivery that makes it what it is. You can feel his pain of being cheated on by the only woman he’s ever really been in love with..
Randy, that's your opinion, it's sad that you can't feel the negative emotions Eminem put on that song, it's a cathartic piece, with the intent of making you feel disgusted, angry and sad, of course you wouldn't get it because you probably don't use your brain while hearing music.
