That’s a really great song he wrote when Hailie’s mom was having a lot of legal trouble, and doing rehab, etc...as much as his music says he hates Kim, he deeply loved her and wanted his daughter to know. Alaina (Lainey) is Kim’s twin sisters’ daughter, which he took custody of and raised, as well as Whitney- who is a child Kim had with Eric Hartter (he actually just died last month of an overdose)- which Em also took custody of and raised. He wanted them to all know he loved and cared for Kim. Isn’t it incredible that he literally gave those girls what they never could of had without him? How selfless is it that he took in and raised not only Kim’s niece, but Kim’s child by someone else? THAT’s the Em we know and love so much. It’s nice that you’re very open minded and willing to listen and be objective.

My Dads Gone Crazy - Hailie is actually in that song when she was young. Like Toy Soldiers is one of his best songs ever imo. Eminem is a masterful storyteller through his music which is part of the reason he is so loved by so many. We've heard everything from fun and love stories to dark and crazy serial killer stories. He is also very funny. He is very private in the real world but has bared his soul to us in his music. Through 20 years we've heard the good, bad and ugly of his life which has made him very real and relatable to his fans. The absolute #1 thing we all know is just how much he loves his kids and most especially Hailie who is about 22 now. Almost every rapper who's careers have been mostly destroyed by Eminem with his diss tracks was because they mentioned Hailie in a diss track aimed at Em. You can cover his rap beefs at some point. Mockingbird changed my life. It was because of this song I became an Eminem fan and then I started to listen to other hip hop artists. This song also made me want to learn English so I could be able to understand and rap Eminem's songs.

This wasn't JUST my first Eminem song, but my first Rap music EVER. this made me the man today who's chasing a rap career, without this song Rap music wouldn't have saved my life, and I don't know who i would be today.

I didnt get to see my daughter from 3 years old to 12 years old. So many tears and so many memories I didnt have. I've had full custody for 3 years now and i cant even explain how happy i am. Trying to shape her into a strong independent young woman... I love you Ariel!!

Mockingbird is a true masterpiece, Eminem's letter to his daughters Hailie in particular its art in the purest form, to me its the best song in history of music because the artistic value to that song is infinite, its so intimate, overwhelming and reliable that it would make any responsible parent have tears either of guilt or sympathy
