It turned into a brawl with Em’s label and Ja/Benzino/Irv Gotti

After that Benzino used The Source to try and destroy Em for being a Culture Vulture. As I understand it, that's what took them down cuz labels pulled ad money. They were no longer impartial. Beef started cuz he gave Em’s record breaking albums only 2 out of 5 🎤 in The Source. Benzino owned and/or ran The Source. Back then The Source was the hip hop bible. If artist got 4 or more 🎤, it was considered a MUST HAVE by fans. Benzino ended up selling or resigning after this whole beef was over.

The Benzino beef started by Source magazine pretty much giving Em's albums shit scores whit him claiming he would never get 5 mics because of his race. Eminem then started ignoring the magazine and wouldn't work with them on promoting 8mile and refusing interviews with Benzino. After a while it spilled over to everyone connected to Eminem pretty much becoming enemies of the magazine and Benzino dropping diss tracks.
