I think this is one of the best tracks of ALL time , fkn genius. the beat , bass, lyrics, and the disturbing sliding violins?? ...This is the 21st equivalent to Black Sabbaths War Pigs
I flipping LOVE this song. It is the one (actually the whole Eminem Show CD) that made me - as a nearly-40year old at the time father of two- become an Eminem fan :-) My kids thought I was so cool at the time. I still love that CD and this song (just turned 57). Eminem is so talented.
EM is easily one of the very best hip hop artists...he is a crossover artist and reminds me sometimes of Jean Claude Van Damme,...the intelligent, good looking (marshall/martial ) artist.......EM is .....PHENOMENAL.
This was one of the 'realest' early 2000s songs, period. I was in 4th grade when this album dropped, and this track stood out because some of my classmates/friends had older siblings who were being sent to Afghanistan. It helped 'em out a lot during such a stressful time, but our elderly teacher was just hyper-obsessed w/ what she heard about Eminem on the 'news', and would confiscate the album/etc. What a time to be alive, 2002.
I always wondered what he meant by You gotta gotta Keep movin', there's more music to make Keep makin' new shit, produce hits to break The monotony, what's gotten into me? Drugs, rock and Hennessy, thug like I'm 'Pac on my enemies?

This song has always been stuck in my head and we are finally using it for my daughter's walk up song this weekend when she plays with her old team again. Should we start it at 00:13 or 00:18 seconds? 🤔
I'll always respect him for calling out the Bush Jr. administration and military industrial complex when there were still so many bootlickers in dubya's corner. And so many open war hawks.
Didn't listen to Eminem show for the last 20 years. 20 years ago I hated this song and didn't appreciate the album. Like it a lot better after revisiting it 2 weeks ago. The hook is still a bit corny though!
