Hey man, great video as always! I was really hoping you do more eminem reactions after the slim shady Lp and here it is! But I just wanted to point out that though this music is a masterpiece and a lot more higher of a standard than his current music which he should be criticised, that makes a lot of sense, but like why? Isn’t this enough though, the man’s 50 years old and the only person to still be making better rap music than most modern day rappers. Let him enjoy life because at this point he’s already rich and just doing this for fun lol

Bro your SO spot on. His old stuff is so wildly genius and almost perfect. His new stuff is good to great, but it's not the same level as before. He did more with less when younger. But part of that was fueled by his emotional life which I think he's overcome. Without that same exact drive and also becoming so drugged amd needing rehab that he literally had to relearn how to rap.

He still has story telling masterpieces. Bad guy, darkness, legacy, castle/arose… he’s just constantly held to the standard of “Stan” because it was such a success. Yes he is more technical with his rapping lately, but he still has songs with substance. He’s also said that he isn’t really looking to make the big hits anymore. The man is 50 years old and he’s having fun while showing that nobody can out rap him.
@stanners1714
@stanners1714 Год назад
To be fair, I think most people who actually listen to em would say that he was still good when he dropped MMLP2(which is the album bad guy and legacy are on) but it think the issue is with the rest of the tracks on those newer albums. His older albums only have a couple of mid/bad tracks at worse whereas there’s a really substantial chunk of his newer albums that just aren’t to the standard of those classic records, not even close.
@xliv2sk8x90
@xliv2sk8x90 Год назад
@@stanners1714 what standard are those old songs being held to though? If he rapped about the stuff he did back then, he would get hate for not saying anything new. His standard for skill level when rapping on newer songs is leagues above the old. He’s 50 years old and just having fun. He can’t keep repeating the same stories over and over. It’s an unrealistic expectation to have for a music artist

Em is at his best when hes speaking about topics that affect him personally. (Kim, kill you, Stan,The Way I Am, Darkness, Kill Shot, White America, Cleaning out my closet.. etc. ) Of course some of the early songs seem to hit harder and a bit more personally, he was going through a complete change of life with being in the spotlight, and being constantly blamed for being a bad influence. Now hes out of the main public eye, and more making a statement on the current state of the rap game and is content just running lyrical marathons around the garbage that is prevalent out in the mainstream. The problem is that most peoples opinions are still swayed by the drug album years. I was hoping that he would take Games bait and respond with something massive like he did with Kill Shot or The Warning. Still have my fingers crossed that he was on a release blackout because of the RnR HoF induction

As far as Eminem being "...bored and doing too much now", I think there's some truth in that. I repeat; *some.* Overall, however, his golden years have been waaaay better than what I've seen other all time greats release. For example, who's put out superior content in their latter years- Eminem or Metallica? Eminem or Madonna? How about Michael Jackson? Garth Brooks? Snoop Dogg? Slipknot? Lady Gaga? It's really not even close. What Eminem has achieved with his career is unprecedented, honestly. He's an anomaly the entertainment industry has never seen before. Yes, I'm aware those comparisons are subjective and several would probably try to argue in favor of some of the others I listed, but you're being intellectually dishonest if you can't at least concede that no other performer has remained as culturally relevant, or successful at expanding their fanbase with new, younger listeners the way Eminem has with his career. P.S: As far as Andrew Tate goes, 'misogyny' is just a cover story. They didn't silence him over a few unflattering comments he made about women in the past. They silenced him for revealing the wealthy globalist cabal's agenda.

The thing with em is a lot of his older music definitely got fuelled by a lot of hate, a lot of anger and ALOT of repressed feelings that needed off his chest. Nowadays em has a pretty great life. He’s not got the same drive or the same story telling in his songs, but I don’t necessarily think he needs it either. He’s earned his praise with all of this older stuff, nowadays he just makes what he wants to whether it lands or doesn’t. And for him being 50 and still doing this and arguably doing it better than a lot half his age is something to be admired. He’ll never make hits like Stan, but songs like stepping stones that came out recently show he still has a touch of that narrative drive buried deep in there somewhere.

I know many prefer his older stuffs, but people still overlook his storytelling from his last albums unless you are part of the fans that actually enjoy the complexity....Even all the back to 2013 which is the sequel to this, Bad Guy. Never Love Again and Darkness is up there. Medicine Man verse gives the "White America vibe" although a bit different, Kings Never Dies is mad inspirational, reminds me of Till i Collapse, but its more effective in modern time talking about his legacy rather than the way to the top. Also my all time favourite songs probarbly is Gon Learn and Not Alike actually. I just love the schemes on those two songs..Gon Learn water scheme with reference to Napoleon lost battle at Waterloo and Guns/muscle scheme at Not Alike. The aggressive rapping at Not Alike and the constant top notch bars at Gon Learn. Royce da 5`9 got a insane good verse at Gon Learn as well, they are neck in neck on that song

They released another version of this album that removed the song 'Kim' and replaced with it with a song called 'The Kids' You should give it a listen, tbh when I was 10 years old I'm glad I had that version, my 10 year old brain wouldn't have been able to comprehend or handle that song at all.

There’s no denying the impact of Eminem between 99-02. Those first three albums are timeless classics and Em was undoubtedly the best rapper in the world at that time. It’s a shame none of his music after had quite the same effect but he set the bar extremely high and never quite reached it himself again. But regardless, the first three albums by themselves cement Em’s status and legacy in hip hop.

@@morehoops no, rapping fast doesn’t make it better. It’s quality over quantity, substance over speed. He tries too hard with his rhyme schemes these days and often it ends up sounding messy. Old school Em was much much more listenable and he really had something to say even if it was quite dark at times.

Eminem is doing this and a whole lot more in his new music. It's exactly what he speaks of, that everyone holds him to this album. This is a radio play album minus a few tracks. So it comes across as more nuanced. It's just easier to digest. His new stuff is just harder to casually listen to because the same thing is said within doubles and triples. It just doesn't appeal commercially anymore.

He doesn't try to do too much, it's just that now there isn't many subjects he's not done if any so it's more lyrical aerobics and technical rapping now basically just trying to outrap himself and show his ability. Even whilst doing that he still manages to provide context.
