Yeah, and too many gave Em crap over it being almost 2 weeks to release but ignoring his respect given to Mac's death. Some Stans are oblivious to the outside music world. Lol
@@michaelmorales1475 What he did, in my opinion, was worse. Not Alike was the bait, Killshot was him showing off by systematically ripping apart Rap Devil at every word, and the little jabs in songs like Bang original verse and MTBMB jabs mortal kombatted him. Basically, he experienced him with torture versus the instant Shady death. Em's mind is a world by and within itself. Genius defined through art. One of my favorites in Killshot was, "Now let's talk about somethin' I don't really do Go in someone's daughter's mouth stealin' food" and then never talks about it. Pure brilliance that many missed. BUT, in all fairness, took my 20+ listens to grab it, and I could be reaching, doubt it though, he is that great with his craft.
At his concert in brisbane here in AUS last year, the entire stadium stomping and screaming for killshot, him then telling us he aint gonna perform it because hes given mgk too much clout as it is.
There are so many layers in this diss track. It's insane! Here are a few of my favorites: 1. Eminem released KILLSHOT on September 14th and told MGK he would make him Swayze. 2. Patrick Swayze was in a movie called ‘Ghost’ in which his character is, a ghost. Patrick Swayze died on September 14th. 3. Killshot is a Movie, based on a Hitman who has to kill a man named Colson. MGK's name is Richard Colson Baker. 4. On September 7th, Eminem went live on IG and played Ms. Pac-Man for 7 minutes straight with Tupac’s ‘Hit Em Up’ playing in the background. 5. September 7th is the day that Pac was shot and MGK has a Pac-Man tattoo over his collarbones. (Neck area.) ‘Hit Em Up’ is a diss track by Tupac to Biggie and Diddy. 6. Eminem’s "give Jade-a-kiss" line, followed up with the "game been same just the locks changed" (The Lox, Em's hair color, Jadakiss, Jade is Hailie’s middle name.) 🔥🐐🔥🐐🔥 People who think MGK killed Em and think KILLSHOT wasn't good or hard enough clearly don't understand the bars. They don't take the time to understand the bars, layers, double and triple entendres that Em spits. It's sad that these new cats don't truly understand a 'diss' track. The layers in Em's diss are absolutely insane! He is so incredibly talented and won't dumb his bars down for these lazy mumble rap kids. Not to mention; Em came up in battle rap and he carefully orchestrates his every move/bar. I've heard people say that Em didn't go 'hard' enough. Umm... duh! You can't spit everything you have on someone in the first full diss to anyone. That's why Em says, "What good is a machine gun when it's out of ammo?" MGK threw everything he had at Em on his song and has nothing else he can say. If Em wanted to/needed to diss him again, he has more ammunition. Classic battle tactic. 🔥👏🐐
They probably didn't react to Eminem's Not Alike because it's part of Kamikaze and they have a looong way until they get to react to that album. They first have to react to the rest of Recovery then MMLP2, then Revival and after all that it's Kamikaze.
Overall order of events: 2012ISH Em's daughter post pic of herself at around 16 22 year old MGK tweets she is hot as f@ck, paraphrasing 2018 MGK disses Em using a sub in a tech nine song, then again in a tweet. Em releases Not Like MGK releases Rap Devil Em releases Killshot MGK releases Binge, confirming mumble rap tendencies 2018 to present Stans release hell Present day MGK quit rap and back to rock rap type stuff
Oh yeah really? I mean, yes, im Sure EM can write it in NO time... But then after the Lyrics? How Long does he fine tune the Textes, or Marching Up the Beat with the Lyrics? Im pretty Sure THAT needs the Most time when Em makes an New Track usually ...
That’s just a term people have been using for years. If they say “your Swayzie” that means your dead. So hes basically saying if he makes one call to interscope then MGKs whole career is dead and done.
Killshot is genius made Check this out Killshot is a movie where the main character name is Colson, MGK real name is Colson Baker. In the film Colson has a hitman sent after him, but eventually he is killed by a police marshal ( Marshall Mathers is Eminem real name ). Genius🔥🔥🔥 If you go down the rabbit hole to brake down the lyrics of this diss song ... you will found out that almost every line has a deeper meaning to it ... it's a lyrical masterpiece. I'll give you one more cuz I don't want to type for the whole day haha MGK said in his diss " Let’s ask Interscope how you had Paul Rosenberg ( Em manager ) trying to shelf me" now Em said " say you got me in the scope, but you’ve just grazed me. One call to interscope and you’re Swayze ". Swayze has been used in rap bars, mostly in the 90's. Now this is referring to the actor Patrick Swayze who is most know for his part in the movie Ghost. Eminem is saying that MGK diss was a weak shot and if Eminem really wants to destroy MGK it only takes just one call to Interscope ( music record label ) and MGK will be Ghost ... thrown out of the label ... be forgotten. And Patrick Swayze died on 14 september ... that's the day that Killshot was released.
@@rajanesaki9051 lol..gotcha..Em woke up on Labor Day to diss MGK, given Em wrote Killshot in 13 minutes. So, when he states he woke up Labor Day to this, the song released, he also woke up on Labor Day to diss MGK in Killshot...
MGK's whole, so called"diss track" sounded like it was written by a 10 year old.No imagination and no complex bars what so ever.Don't listen to the beat, listen to the lyrics.
you must be joking mgk was speaking facts and meanwhile eminem with child bars like "you would suck d*ck to be me","id rather be 80 year old me then 20 years old you"
@@alonzo9948 not a stan a like both disses but eminem came with facts too? And mgks even got one of his facts wrong and admitted he messed up on it too...eminem called him out in his false line in the diss, told him he had more money than him when he was younger, he is older than mgk and still got more sales and streams. All of eminems disses was rebuttaling what mgk had said in rap devil
Just discovered your channel, I like the way you analyze the songs, but you guys missed the last line, I was waiting for her to hear it, but oh well, I hope she listened to the end.
“Playing dead that’s the only time you hold steel(still)”. MGK was in the movie Nerve, and he shot someone at the end of the movie where the person played dead to trick everybody. Fucking genius.
Also Eminem wrote this in 13 minutes or so if I remember correctly. I love this song, imagine if Em put in more effort in this track. In my opinion there is no comparison between the two. Like in boxing they are two different weight classes.
You should react to the whole Eminem's interview with Sway (4 parts). Since it was after Kamikaze and Rap Devil and before he wrote Killshot. It explains a lot like references from Rap Devil, how the beef started etc and fill a lot of gaps. Definitely check all of it out, you'll love it.
ExuberantRaptor I will! I asked Ryan to watch before, but we decided to have me listen to it almost for the first time and be able to react with not knowing as much and try to figure it out. Sometimes it’s hilarious reading the comments and learning about so much stuff I missed. Anyway, thank you for sharing helping me get up to speed . ~ Meg
Great reaction guys...love u guys...when uz have a chance can uz react 2 a group that's fire n our homeland New Zealand named L.A.B theres many tracks like "In The Air, Baby Will You Let Me, Rocketship, Controller 2 name a few they all amazing tracks n I'm very sure uz will love them too..madd love 4 u guys🤎👌🏾🙌
I really appreciate your thoughts on songs I've heard but never really went in depth on meaning or thought process. I look forward to all your breakdowns. Thank you.
Hmm I really liked the way she compared Eminem picking apart every line MGK said in Rap Devil to responding to a long text from your ex. Haha that’s a good way to look at it
Love the show. Remember eminem daughter was under age. And em say dont make me call trick trick that goes back in day Detroit was a no fly zone for groups not paying off the OG’s
& girl is mad smart for picking up on how em rebuttals on everything , in Battle rap that’s the most important thing in response diss tracks . Addressing everything your opponent supposedly told the world about you is key . Good vid . Beard lookin pretty awesome my too my guy 💪🏼🤣
Ain’t nothing change but the locks, give Jade a Kiss. So there is a rap group called The Lox and one of the members is Jadakiss. It was a reference to that
If you want a good Eminem diss track beef to react to that doesn't require a track off a future Eminem album, react to Quitter by Eminem, its his most scathing diss track along with "The Warning" which you guys already did. It was never officially released on an album or a single, just leaked, Ryan may never have even heard it, but its sooo vicious..
Jimmy is Jimmy Iovine the Boss of Interscope and the one who "discovered" Eminem and brought him together with Dr. Dre. So MGK says Em called Diddy and then Jimmy to shelf him. I really like you're new background, it's dope. I got one tip though, would be awesome if you treated the walls acoustically, you will get way better sound out of your reactions 🤗. It's not even very expensive, you just need a couple of panels on the walls that absorb the reverb.
Now you gotta jump into some of MGK's stuff. He been producing amazing stuff recently. Here are some recommendations Smoke and drive Pretty toxic revolver In these walls Floor 13 (Eminem reference) Bloody Valentine (Amazing punk) Death in my pocket Alpha Omega
I still give MGK mad credit for going at Eminem cause it takes a lot of balls to go after Em..and I believe that’s why Em def respected that and responded
You guys do great as usual I just find it odd that y’all didn’t notice how many times he calls Eminem great or the GOAT lol hard to win a battle like that
Some artists can absolutely carry a beat, even if it’s a wack beat, and some artists rely on a beat to carry them. THIS is a big point of difference between these two rappers, which is largely echoed in these two tracks.
Nobody who has given the win to MGK has ever mentioned the beat. Ever. They all compare disses and lyrics. Eminem had the lyrics but 0 disses, MGK had the disses and some lyrics. Since a beef is a dissing competition, MGK wins by default.
@@ReallyUnexplainable LMAO..What a clown. Em had multiple disses layered in his song. Waaaay more than MGK. He also didn't say positive shit about MGK like MGK did with Em. Calling a rapper the GOAT in a diss track is an automatic L (or a loss by default). Lay off the meth. This shit wasn't close. Get MGK's sack out of your mouth. Em won this easily.
@@Dustin030888 Again, 0 disses. But there is a way you can prove me wrong. Can you tell me a single TRUTHFUL, HURTFUL, and DAMAGING diss in Killshot? If Killshot is such a good diss track, then you should be able to find at least one, right? Just one, I am not asking much.
@Yanisel Garcia "As long as I'm shady you're gonna live in my shadow" Is not truthful. If anything, after the beef MGK stopped being a wannabe Slim Shady. Nobody refers to him like that. He quite literally forced his way out of Eminem's shadow by being the first rapper to out-rap him in a rap beef.. which is pretty cool. If anything, as long as MGK does Rap, Eminem will have to live with the fact that a younger rapper handed his ass. Hard enough to unite the opinion of other rappers and hip hop commentator into giving him his first L. The "by 29 I had 3 albums that had blew" isn't hurtful at all. Eminem achieved 0 degree of success on his own. Look at it this way.. The way Eminem said "I'd rather be 80yo me than 20yo you." MGK looks at that line. As he said in rap devil, all he got in his career is HIS. He'll never have to thank another rapper for quite literally making him. To consider that line a diss, you have to agree to what MGK said.. that Eminem's success came because of Dre. If you think Eminem's success is his own, then go back of three years, before Dre picked him up and when Eminem was 26.. MGK at that age had gold and platinum records already, while eminem had an album that sold 70 copies and an LP that sold 250. (not 70k and 250k.. I mean seventy, and two hundred and fifty.) The "Got more fans than you in your own city little kitty go play" I honestly doubt that. It's just something that Eminem says. You can't prove it. The only way to prove this is by comparing shows, but Eminem does very few massive shows. that's why he has more people watching the few times he performs. MGK is respected in Cleveland, by rappers, by athletes, by tv personalities.. he is Cleveland. I say it's a questionable statement that is unlikely to have offended MGK. Honestly, would you be offended by it? "My biggest flops are your greatest hits" Well, read paragraph 2 and you'll know how fucking false that line is.. I give more props to MGK for getting to where he is now on his own, than I give Eminem. Mostly because Eminem didn't get there on his own. "compliment me in a line and diss me on the next?" Nah, it's not damaging nor hurtful. You know why? MGK never denied of having been a fan of Eminem. If he said he was never a fan, then Eminem could have said "you're lying, you are a stan of mine." But MGK never denied it. Even in rap devil he says he doesn't deny. The entire song is from a point of disappointment, not defiance.. It's like if I say "I am worried about your health. You should stop smoking." And all you say as a response is "Lol, why you so obsessed? love me much? lol." It's fucking weak.
@@ReallyUnexplainable What a clown defending MGK. MGK is now going rock, leaving Hip-hop and his numbers has only dropped since he dropped Rap Devil. His Binge album flopped. He'll never be anything else than the guy that dissed Eminem, and that will be forgotten when the buzz dies down. He has no longevity as a rapper, because he chose the easy way, as opposed to working at it. He could have come in EM's good graces if he played his cards right. Made his own funeral. This is it big as you're gonna get was literally true. Go away clown. Do some research.
maybe im high but they didnt even finish listening to killshot? they stopped at the diddy/pac line? maybe im wrong and i missed the bit where they did.
I think it’s unfair to say his career was finished when interscope said his name is 50+% (can’t remember the actual figure) bigger than anytime before in his career including the beef
FUN FACT! Kill Shot was also a 2008 film and in the end of the film, a US MARSHALL shot a woman name COLSON. That would be a double diss for those who know this information. Eminem the only rapper to diss someone just with the title alone. Fire!!!!
Fun Fact: The bridge verse in Rap Devil was a reuse verse from his EP Binge song NYLON. That is a lazy thing for any artist to do, therefore, MGK take all the L in history of Rap
atlbraves1983 I’m pretty sure his hotel Diablo album did good in terms of numbers regardless the albums quality speaks for itself. great project from him
Phil Bosh it was STILL better than bloom. Numbers don’t always equal quality look at 69 who’s smashing records and his songs are horrible. Rap devil was a good move and a bold one I respect him for standing his ground and defending himself against Em because people are too afraid to do so. Rap devil in my opinion was the best disstrack towards Em, simple and effective. I expected more from Em on killshot it wasn’t that great of a diss and tbh I don’t think either one of them won, it was a draw. Anyways look at MGK right now he’s doing well I love how he’s diving into new sounds and genres he seems like his found himself again with his new style.
MGK is killing it... but its not rap. His rap career is done. His rock music is better anyways...I actually like the stuff he's been putting out. Killing in the name of was a really good cover...
Ok before I say what I’m about to say lemme just make it clear that I like Rap Devil, and MGK earned my respect for at least having the balls to try dissing Eminem. But there were a lot of corny bars in Rap Devil. Calling him old 100 times, complimenting him in some lines. Like I aknowledge he’s saying Eminem is the goat because that’s just the truth. But you absolutely cannot call someone the greatest rapper alive if you’re dissing him. The beat was super dope. Eminem in killshot literally picked apart every single word MGK said, he addressed EVERYTHING MGK said and flipped it on him. Eminem is the greatest of all time man.
I like how he giving her time to figure it out. It's pretty obvious that he's more aware of the situation, events, and references. But yeah gotta finish up the thought. To much dead air. Thinking about it. Or talking about a subject your trying to figure out why "this" was stated "that" way. That you don't get. If you look at Eminem's Instagram around that time. He was taking a lot of purposely akward and stupid selfies. Ya gotta wrap it up n move on. It's good to see the dude work with her tho.
MGK's career wasn't ruined , but how are people calling Rap Devil a decent diss track you can't rip on someone then give props at the same time, and Em's response wasn't that great but it sounded like a dad talking to a kid it was kinda funny
It’s hard watching people react to Eminem songs because everything goes over the head!! You have to react with the lyrics up and you have to go over every 2 lines twice lol!! No joke ! Your brains would explode if you understood everything
Did anyone else catch the double about the lox & jada kiss, it's also about ems hair or locks meaning the only thing different is his hair colour so he'll always be a savage mf & his daughters name is hailie jade.
Give Jadakiss is a reference to the rapper jadakiss but also about hailey because his daughters name is hailey Jade and MGK Tweeted about Eminem’s daughter.
MGK in 2012 he was 22 and he called Em's 16 year old daughter sexy and then he did funk flex freestyle and then he did the tech9 feature and finally the last nail in his coffin was at his second funk flex freestyle and not only did Em diss him in Not Alike as well as G-easy taking a pot shot at MGK because he fucked G's girl when they were on a week break and MGK decided he wanted to end his rap career and released Rap Devil not realizing that Killshot would blacklist him from the rap game because no rapper wanted to get dragged into the smoke
I love the background! Another great reaction guys. Did you hear the good news? Em gave Royce a really NICE position in the executive office at SHADY Rec.
MGK actually had a decent diss track despite what a lot of Stans say. It wasn't superb or anything, it just want that bad. Still nothing compared to Em tho, but that's just cause Eminem is on a different level.
It definitely had some decent lines, but said decent lines were overshadowed by the fact that the entirety of the track just focused on Em's age and not much else was brought to the table
She hears " Omg Ronnie " and than she says I'm 90% sure he's not the one that made the beat. 🤦♂️ Also in the song Business Em said '' Til we grow beards, get weird and disappear. ". Missed plenty of other lines
