@jv180sx Engine choice is solely dependent on the airline unless it is a 777-300ER, which only uses the GE90-115B. Emirates uses both RR and GE's on their aircraft. Has nothing to do with the country the airline is based in...American Airlines uses all RR on their 777-200's, Delta uses GE90-110's
I have traveled from one corner of the globe to the other with Emirates Airlines, and I have never been the slightest bit displeased with their service. This airline is the standard for excellence of service and luxury in air travel.
just been on emirates and flew back from dubai to manchester sunday 11 nov 07 , those 777's are unbelievable! you can't even feel the plane touchdown when u land in one of those babies, got some serious shock absorbers under that belly!
They don't let you, but if you get the camera out after the crew are strapped in, you'll be alright. It's got nothing to do with navigation equipment, it's about being aware and ready if there's an incident.

@BobsterMega A 777 is the type of aircraft, The 773 is short for Boeing 777-300 series. They are powered by either the Rolls Royce - 892, Pratt & Whitney's 4000s, or the General Electric 90 engine.

that's a curious question...I guess there're many arabs pilots but for sure there are a lot of westerners. I leave in Brazil and Emirates crew comes many times in the year looking for flight attendents and pilots aswell. So It might happen in other countrys too.

Maybe not on that old 777-31H you're on, but on the new 773ER's and A345's, their First and Business class product is superb, up there with SQ i'd say.
