Join me on this 16 hour hop across the world from Dubai, the hub of the Middle East carrier Emirates, all the way to San Francisco in Western U.S. on one of Emirates' longest route offering! I was originally scheduled to fly in First Class but was subsequently downgraded to Business Class due to a ticket issue. However, let's not waste a good flight! How did I find the Emirates Business Class offering against my previous experience onboard their Game Change First Class? Watch my review to find out! (p.s. Nice review, as always 😊. What a disappointment to be downgraded to Business Class when you were probably really looking forward to a most comfortable seat and a superior menu to choose from. I congratulate you on remaining calm with a positive attitude. I hope that I would be as mature as you were in accepting the reality of your situation and concentrating on having a good flight and getting home. A very nice video...the most honest I have seen. I don't know who booked you but I would let them know you will need use them again!! I would also call the airline and let them know what happened and that you would never fly them again and that you would tell everyone what happened!!!

Hi 👋, first of all thank you for your time and effort sharing your experience. Couple of questions if I may: when you ordered that hot meal after not liking lunch, did it cost, actually, do the meals and drinks (bar included) cost money? And also, were you in jeopardy of getting stranded in Dubai? And did they reimburse anything for the error. This last one I totally understand if you chose not to disclose. Still seems strange that if you were entitled to and agreed upon paying for and being booked into FC, that not even any gate agents or check in agents in DXB could do anything . Did you effectively end up paying for First and then getting business? If so, some compensation is appropriate . Either way it was the booking agent that got it mixed up so there should be a way to compensate you for the change? Did you use miles or points to book?

Extraordinary that even after paying for a First Class ticket and issued the boarding pass, the lounge agents downgraded you. Incredible. Sorry to hear about that

The lounge agents didnt downgrade me, it was ticketting that did while attempting to fix my booking🥹 the lounge agents tried their best trying to revert it 🫶🏻

Yes I would try Emirates business class. Because it is more opulent than most first class that I have seen. I really feel sorry for you that the meals were not to your liking. Maybe next time. Thanks for sharing your experiences. Bye now Christopher Peart.

Did Emirates provide pajamas for their flights from Dubai into SF? In 2022 I flying Qatar in their suites I got a nice set of pajamas each way. It really helped to put them on as soon as I got them and wear throughout the flight -- a nice long sleeved v-neck T-shirt and light weight sweat pants.

This is the old Concourse B First Class Lounge, not Concourse A, isn’t it? Concourse A’s is the flagship lounge. For long layovers, I definitely spend as much time in that terminal’s lounge - it’s newer and much grander. By the way, First Class has even more faux wood than business class on the A380. The shower suites are authentic wood, though, as is the bar set up at the top of the stairs to First Class.

Indeed the concourse B :) i will have to give the concourse A a try next time... im kind of getting bored with the faux wood, but loved the colour scheme and cool designs in the game changer!

So many great things about your video-blog. Close ups of the menu items and food. I was hoping you would choose the prawns and I was not disappointed. I really don't understand why everyone goes with the salmon and beef? (a bit like going to Japan and dining at McDonald's) I sincerely appreciate the easily read English subtitles and most importantly, the time taken to film, edit, and post. I am not understanding the First-to-Business problem. Did you pay for a 1st class ticket and get downgraded to Business -- and if so, did you get a refund or credit? I can't understand wanting to fly with them again... I am not really asking a question, rather posing a thought. 99% of travel vlog flights that have an A380 tail,nose, and under carriage cam never get shown. I would focus the camera on the screen showing the tail view and the moment liftoff happens I would switch to the under carriage cam. I have no idea why everyone avoids this during daylight. Again, thank you for an amazing detailed trip as always.

Were you able to trace the cause of the ticket issue? Was it something that could be avoided? Could any of us face this same problem or was it so rare that we shouldn't be concerned?

It seems the IT communication between checking in with Oman Air and continuing onwards with Emirates had some issue in Bangkok. They attempted to attach the ticket back to my profile through ticketting but the agent somehow reattached me as Business Class.. As the flight was already closed, the system wouldnt let them revert my seat 🥹

Purchased first class but something wrong with ticketing that apparently on Emirates system and reticketting at the airport accidentally booked me into business... couldnt get them to fix it as boarding was starting 😭Difference in fare was refunded for this portion of my journey only

I looked at the menu and I am bitterly disappointed that an airline of this caliber does not have one single proper vegetarian entrée on a long haul flight like this. I believe a majority of their clientele from Dubai to San Francisco. Actually, will be from India. It is a no-brainer to have at least one Vegetarian entree, not to mention actually an Indian vegetarian entrée. They should probably take a look at the menu on qatar Airways business class from San Francisco to Doha and learn a few lessons.

I am not an alcholic, but I would like to have lots of champagne and that too back to back two glasses before lunch🤣🤣. Guess Champagne has been downgraded to non Non Alcholic or is not classified as Alcoholic on Emirates
