Emirates vs Etihad vs Qatar: Which Has The Best Economy Class? 

Anyone else get excited when you hear the rattle of the food and drinks carts coming ?

The crew of the Qatar airways are such lovely friendly people, When my son was almost 3 years old he was tired and it was way past his bedtime, he cried alot and it took a while for him to settle down, they were so helpful and compassionate. They could see how flustered/emotional/teary I was .. they tried their best to help me calm him down, when he finally went to sleep they checked on me again to see how I was doing. It was a long 12 hour flight, and they spoiled him with heaps of treats and snacks, they would play with him and were so happy to see his true cute self after he rested. I thanked them so many times and made sure they know how much it meant to me to have their support.

Qatar does serve a very good Lunch and Dinner. It is impossible to make the breakfast omelette stays soft inside the oven.

For me Emirates died when they introduced the 15kg luggage restriction for their cheapest fare. I really love Qatar for keeping it up with their 30kg luggage restriction to most destinations and the free seat selection, which is quite rare nowadays.

I think for the food, you can’t compare breakfast to lunch. I’m ex crew for Emirates and although some breakfasts are good, they don’t compare to the lunch/dinner meals so I think that may have affected Qatar’s score a little.

In my opinion it's the other way around. I had really high expectations with Emirates, but they really let me down. Qatar has the best price/quality for sure.

I flew with all of the three airlines varius times. I have to say that Qatar's and Etihad's food were very good but i didn't liked Emirates food at all. In Qatar the crew was very friendly and it felt a Little bit like being at home, but Etihad ' s and Emirates crew were very professional.

Now do RyanAir, Easyjet, and Norwegian

Recently flew Qatar a380 upper deck economy, it felt like business class because it was extremely private and the crew were amazing

I love this video, Etihad is the only airline I have not being on amongst these 3. I love both Emirates and Qatar, looking forward to experiencing Etihad .

As someone who has only traveled personally on Qatar so I will refrain from comments on the other two, but It was a long 14 hour flight on an a350, and I really don't think there was any thing wrong. The crew and entertainment and food were all standouts. The crew were just so nice and they willing, without me asking offered an extra meal. The entertainment was so good like so many different options. Lastly the food was very good especially considering it was economy. So props to Qatar

I also looked up a lot of reviews before booking 4 flights with Qatar in September, my choice for Qatar was first: price for ticket, second: luggage included in cheapest fare and last: you’re are able to choose your seats for free, and bonus good flights hours. All in all most of them 3 would give the same (top) service in economy onboard but for me Qatar is still a step before the other who changed there policy in economy over the last years.

I’ve flied Emirates once from Brisbane (Australia) to Singapore and it was alright. Did the same route with Etihad and ten times better. Does help that they don’t make people pay for the emergency row or bulkhead in economy with Etihad. Hope the guys can make their way down under after the virus on any flights to Australia

I think if they all had taken morning flights with breakfast, they would have all given low marks for the food not only just for Qatar

I personally feel Emirates prioritizes their first and business class product and don't care much about economy. As for service, sometimes the attendants just walk past the seat and think it was an accidental click of the call button and other times, they just ignore it and come 5 minutes later. If you're seated on an A380, I found that most of the cabin crew focused more on the back of the main deck rather than the front near cockpit area. Also, I think Emirates food is good on the other hand. Great video tho!

Flew with all three, Qatar was the best for me in terms of crew service (they’re friendly x1000), emirates come close as second for me although emirates has the best IFE in the world. Etihad comes no where close, etihad’s crew is alright, but their seats, meh. Looks nice, doesn’t feel nice.

just flew emirates to Colombo and the experience on the A380 was great, not so much on a very crowd 777 for second leg. Those headphones are a bit weird but what irritates me is why they (and many others) hand out printed menus when this could easily be handled via the onboard entertainment system. Having flown Etihad to India previously, they're both good airlines experiences.

I love to travel a lot but had never fly too far from my country. I wish one day I could fly aboard with these three airlines. Finger crossed 🤞🏼

good comparison video..much appreciated guys. But , i think , for passengers flying to USA , Etihad's US Pre clearence feature at Abu Dhabi airport is very helpful , one HUGE reason to opt for Etihad while flying into US by Non US citizens .

I flied Qatar when I was 7......And they brought me cold drink frequently, the food was awesome.....but the best part is that on the return flight they gave me (only me not my big brother lol) a nice big pouch with all spongebob activities in it (drawing book...etc)

When I pressed the ‘attention button’ or whatever it’s called. They came after 2 minutes, turned the little light of, and went back to their little area at the toilets.

I went on Etihad and Emirates both of them were great! But I prefer Emirates more on economy but business in Etihad is better! I never tried Qatar though so I can’t actually give my opinion on that (I don’t understand the people that are hating on Emirates or the ones that are hating on Qatar you can’t actually hate on other airlines just because of politics 😅)

I think the little cups are so you can use water to wash any downstairs areas. Some cultures use water rather than just tissue alone

I`ve flown on both Emirates and Qatar from Zurich to China via Doha/Dubai but I can`t say anything about Etihad. In my experience QAs service really stands out, I have flown with them two years in a row in August and the purser actually recognized me from the flight one year ago! Don`t get me wrong, Emirates service is really above average but I feel like the Qatar crew is a little more passionate about their job and they make the service a little more personal. As for the product: Bear in mind that Qatar Airways operates a more diverse fleet, so your economy product really depends on what aircraft you are flying on. For example: back then Zurich-Doha was operated by their 787 with a very impressive product, comfortable seat, a good responsive IFE screen big windows and metal cutlery with your meal. On the second leg to china I was on their a330 which has a noticeably older cabin, small windows, older seats, outdated IFE (the selection was the same, just talking about the hardware here) and plastic cutlery. You don`t really have that problem with Emirates since they only operate a380s and b777s and on most routes you can choose between 380 and 777 since they operate many routes twice a day, once with each aircraft type. If you can choose between them, I would highly recommend the a380 in economy just because the a380 is WAY quieter than the 777. About the food: Both airlines offer very impressive lunch and dinner for economy, I would just give Qatar the slight edge over Emirates. But both airlines really struggle to deliver a good breakfast, I had omelette or pancakes for the western option on both airlines and its just not good, I guess its just harder to make a good western breakfast on airplanes in economy... but here is a tip: If you are flying into China or Asia, maybe try the Asian breakfast, as in my experience compared to a normal asian breakfast on the ground, it wasn`t that bad.So maybe that`s an option for you, if you want to try something new. Another point where in my opinion Qatar has the edge over Emirates, is their Hub. Doha Hamad International is just a better and more comfortable airport to transfer through, since the distances between the gates on average are way closer than in Dubai. You also won`t need to take a subway or skytrain within the airport like you might have to in Dubai. In my experience Emirates` flights are a little cheaper than Qatar`s but the baggage allowance is higher on Qatar and they offer a free seat selection even on their lowest fare. Combine that with the consistent good service and the more passenger-friendly hub, I think its worth it to pay the extra.

I've flown both Qatar and Emirates for flights averaging 12 - 17 hours, and I personally will always stand by Emirates. Outside of their stellar service, food, internet, and in-flight entertainment options, the fact that they usually offer access to a hotel to rest for the night if you have a very long layover before your connecting flight always guarantees it as my airline of choice when traveling home. My experience with Qatar was not bad, but due to the aforementioned reason of the included hotel Emirates offers travellers with long layovers, as well as the stronger catalog of in-flight entertainment makes it second place in my eyes to Emirates. It is slightly roomier than Emirates I will say that though. At the end of the day, it all depends on your final destination which airline to use, and all are great options! Also, when I travelled with Emirates during COVID, every thing was so well organized for passenger's comfort. We were given the entire row to ourselves, and they had the row in front of and behind us unoccupied to ensure social distancing measures. I really appreciated it especially due to my wariness of the pandemic and I felt very comfortable and safe (as I could be) travelling with them.

Please publish the price of each ticket so we can compare, price is the main reason most people fly Economy, it’s very important.

The emirates crew are so nice and friendly, a few years ago my first flight ever was a flight from Amsterdam to Dubai. I was only 10 years old and I wasn’t feeling so well and yea I threw up but didn’t have enough time to get the bag to throw up in so I threw up on the ground. But they cleaned everything amazingly and they were so kind and friendly!

Makes no sense to me how the Airline Industry CEO's and Management continue to cram people on aircrafts. The Fuel Consumption is rather low on several different makes and models of aircraft. So I am thinking about 0.20 cents a mile per passenger. Removing Economy Seats will give consumers more room and I guarantee Passengers will Rave about the extra room on XYZ airline. Plus removing the seats cuts back on weight, Cuts back expenses of the seats needing repairs, cleaning and over head oxygen etc... console. Flight attendants would also would not be serving meals/drinks. When the plane lands and make ready crews spend less time and have more room to work in the economy seating area. But the Key is having all your Economy Flight Passengers tell everyone how roomy XYZ Airline is. Right now the mentality is how to cram more people on a airplane with no comfort really for anyone in Economy Class. What get me also is that if it was not for the Economy Class Travelers Airlines would go bankrupt. I think its time consumers start ending these You Tube Snob Channels of all their First Class Traveling and devote all their time for Economy Travelers.

I recently flew as an unaccompanied minor with Qatar and the service,food,seat and entertainment was all phenomenal It was a really great experience which I recommend

the cups in the toilets are to put water in to use instead of wiping with tissues. this may sound strange but some countries use water instead of tissue (particularly the middle east) if you have been to an Arabic country you may have spotted a metal hose next to the toilet seat.

One very important aspect is aircrafts, Qatar has the newest A350’s which are the quietest if not on par with A380 and B787, the cabin pressure is much lower which means more oxygen in your lungs, more moisture resulting in more comfortable flight.

Try any of the Asian carriers. Especially ANA and JAL. Best economy class products in the sky!

Recently Emirates flights are quite disappointing - for a 7 hour Europe flight they were not even distributing water after meal service. The flights are now completely booked - maybe impacted by the pandemic and the service is not as friendly as before.

Qatar airways is the best airways i ever went on the people there were so kind and generous they made sure i was okay and fed up and every like half an hour or like 1 hour they would check on me and my siblings to see if we would anything they were really helpful with alot of stuff and even sometimes they let the elder people go to first class because of back achs and stuff

Emirates was my absolute favorite but their newest A380 (2024 July) has such stiff seats. Everything else is great but just sitting in that seat for more than 3 hours, let alone the 13 hours of my flight, was quite painful.

Thank you so much for your honest thoughts. Planning trip from Kansas ( mid America) to Singapore and been nervous regarding which airlines. My sister loves Emirates business class but I would have to take a second mortgage out to afford that- there are two of us flying. So economy it is for us and have heard from associates to look at different airlines than typical US airlines. We don’t want to be completely shattered when we get there !

Prices would be good guys. I fly Emirates to Asia every year and have never had a problem, I have thought about trying one of the others but Emirates usually win on price. I find the A380 the most comfortable and the quietest plane ever for economy, and the food is usually excellent for airline food. The only things I have noticed recently is baggage restrictions and for the past two years we must pay for Rail & Fly. And the Emirates website can often be irritatingly slow and unclear sometimes, when the wifi is not the best.

Ive been on Qatar and they are such kind and loving people! They respond really quick.

i flew on all three airlines, EY Business, QK on Economy and the new QSuites and Economy on EK. I dont like the Economy food on Qatar (QK), was so so. QSuites service was good by the Asian crews. EK (Emirates) economy class is always too busy and the aircrews really have to mutiltask and to entertain family witth kids. Etihads (EY) business class seat is pretty nice and have the massage fucntions. Servies was good too. Overall, I will stick to my Singapore airlines :)

I've flown Qatar from an to China from and to South America and from and to Europe and I was only disappointed on a New Year's Eve flight when the hostess were clearly amateur, I was excited to try Emirates from South Africa to Italy through Dubai but it was suuuuuper disappointed. I stay a huge Qatar fan.

i want to try out etihad airways as am fimiliar with emirates and qatar only, however i have used emirates more frequently, i changed to Qatar just recently and honestly i prefer qatar more. But different people have different choices, i still do like emirates. its a whole new world when changing airline 🙆🏽‍♀️
