I mean turkish airlines is way cheaper compared to qatar or emirates on comparable routes. Therefore I couldnt care less about categories like ambient, seat colors or mood lighting. Of course I still expect exceptional perfomance from these airlines but if my flight is 50% cheaper than a flight from emirates, trust me Im gonna enjoy the turkish airlines way more.
@@firstsoldier4257 Bro you should first learn proper english and without using 100 dots before talking about aviation and accusing people of not flying much. You probably got deported from USA back to Mexico via plane and now you think you are the god of aviation. Just sit down buddy.
I think that Turkish has lower its standards a lot after covid . I remember travelling with them from Toronto to karachi in 2018 and they gave us menu cards on economy .
I agree, during Covid they stopped serving hot meals entirely and gave out cold sandwiches. My mother and brother flew IAH to ISB with them in fall 2020, they were not too thrilled. No amenity kits either. My father did fly with them again recently and said they bought back the amenity kits and hot meals, but he did not like their 787 seats at all and prefers their 777, however he liked Qatar way more on his most recent trip.
While UAE and Qatar provide unlimited funds for their carriers Turkish airlines is a private company, so there has to some cut backs due to covid. By doing so Turkish airlines didn’t layed of any of its workers
@@daglaroglucan How is that an excuse for cost cutting and providing a far inferior product in the case of Turkish airlines? I understand they didn’t lay off any workers but they’ve really become a cheap airline. I’ve flown Turkish airlines three times in 2020, all were very disappointing flights. You get a cold sandwich on a 14 hour flight, unapproachable staff that disappears after meal service, and an airline that threatens you if you change your assigned seat to an empty one in an empty row.
The Best Airline in Europe for Last 4 Years | Awards | Turkish Airlines ® Turkish Airlines has been chosen "Best Airline in Europe", “Best Airline in Southern Europe” and awarded “Best Business Class Onboard Catering”, ...
BTW this is not a fair comparison, Emirates and Qatar should compete with SAUDIA if you're concerned of Middle Eastern Airlines. Turkish however would compare with Lufthansa, AirFrance, and likewise airlines.
I’ve flown Qatar on both the a380 and 350 and I think the a350 Qatar economy was the best economy I’ve ever flown. A380 was a good level, but the extra leg room on the 350 in standard seats is unbeatable
You got to try Turkish airlines economy on their Boeing 787 it has mood lighting, their economy class has their latest entertainment system, printed menus and amenity kit too
@@diehardavgeekfreak6862 I personally favor Turkish Airlines because of its destination network, Star Alliance membership, large aircraft fleet, Istanbul Airport location, Turkish Cargo, bought stocks from TK and my newly bought apartment in Istanbul.
Thanks for this review! I usually fly Qatar since I have One World premier status and like to ensure I get those points :)! But recently had the misfortune of flying Qatar in Economy for a completely full 12 hour flight, and the service and comfort was really horrible (by their standards that is). Everyone in the surrounding seats kept saying Emirates economy was much better, which led me here to your videos. I have to agree that Qatar offers impeccable in-flight service for business class passengers (I've flown Emirates business and found the service to be much more impolite and inattentive by comparison.). But, Qatar's economy service just does not live up to my expectations. So I'll definitely give Emirates economy a try - particularly after this review.
What I like about Emirates is there is a higher chance you get to ride the A380 which somehow makes your seat more spacious (even if in reality its the same as a 777). The TV screen and the windows of an A380 is bigger giving that roomy and airy feel you don't get on a 777 or a 350.
You should do more of these as is really helpful especially on longer flights where people often have a choice - DL/AA/UA, JL/NH/KE, LH/BA/KL, QF/SQ/TG
This was so much fun to watch! Please do Southeast Asian/Pan Pacific airline smackdown as well! Singapore Airlines, Garuda Indonesia, Thai Airways, Cathay Pacific, ANA, Korean Air, Japan Airlines & Asiana!
Hi Dan, great sum up! I flew with only Emirates from Scotland to Thailand for many years and loved every minute of every flight. This sadly ended when they started to charge for seat selection in economy, @ £25 per flight this added £100 to a booking of approx £500 a whopping 20% rise overnight 😢 I switched to Qatar and I'm delighted with their product although I would agree that the service is not as relaxed as Emirates. Qatar have also started to charge for seat selection in economy (free in economy "comfort " bookings) but I have not had to pay so far! In the cabin of the A350 I've always found the lighting to be relaxing and the leg room perfectly adequate. I've had A380 upper deck economy seats with both airlines and Emirates win that by a huge margin! Loved this, please keep them coming. 🙏
Just booked Emirates LHR to MEL Australia. £360 return more for extra legroom seats. Insane. Only cost me about £100 return for that 2 years ago. Seems you have to review and read the fine print for everything you buy now. Also had free cancelation policy due to covid which I had to use and surprise surprise, it was £400 more when I went to rebook. They are all Ryanair now.
I dont know why they didnt give you menus because you were on the Boeing 777-300er on turkish airlines and they give out menus and snacks. When i had a flight 2 months ago they gave out blankets and pillows for every seat
LOL @ DXB to be avoided. I think it's the best airport I have been to in the last 20 years. But hey, I am used to airports like Munich where they force everyone to go through the duty free shop upon going to the gate and NAIA which doesn't even have any useful connection between terminals.
My favorite airline is Emirates 🇦🇪, I flew with them for the first time last year in July, roundtrip from Washington DC to Dubai and back. And I was very comfortable on both airplanes ✈️. I would definitely fly with them again to Dubai.
Flew Turkish airlines economy class from London Gatwick to Bangladesh. Not really impressed. Would try to take emirates next time. However Turkish airlines was the cheapest. I know I could get better service with other airlines but at the end of the day price matters.
I'm surprised that wasn't included in the review. I mean... yeah good service matters, sure, but as long as it is safe I will always go with the cheapest ticket, it is the number 1 priority when choosing a flight
@@abrilakgun these guys who do flight reviews always book unusual routes which are kind of non realistic. Most people don’t have flight status or miles to use too. So for flight reviewers the price probably doesn’t matter. Also they write the cost off because it’s their business. For people like myself price is probably the biggest factor influencing my choice, obviously taking safety into account. Turkish I would say is a decent airlines for a normal person. I don’t go looking for over the top attention from cabin crew etc. even though I do love flying.
this video makes me extremely proud to be a future emirates pilot as i just finished my training and will be going for the 777 training very shortly. Another great video dan and such an amazing analysis
I know Qatar will win on average but my choice is Turkish airlines because of cheaper price and their HUB on my regular travel. By the way all airlines use different aircraft depending on destinations…so the experience is different
Totally agree with you. I have flown all three airlines in Economy on long haul connecting flights. For me generally across all categories, Qatar comes first, Emirates second then Turkish Airlines at a distant third. I intend to fly all three again this year so i can look closely and rate again.
Thankyou so much, i will be flying to US in December from Pakistan and i was so confused between qatar and emirates. But after watching your video, i have finally come to conclusion and decided to go with emirates.
I am not surprised about Turkish being in last place but they got hammered LOL. I used to be a regular customer of theirs but it seemed that over the years, their quality was in a steady state of decline and I heard that their airport is just a white elephant.
I usually order kosher food because it is served separately before other service starts. No problem with TK. But in June I could not book it on Qatar. On my flights with ER or Etihad I also could not get it. Seems to have changed recently… but not in June with Qatar.
Hey Dan I’m just wondering why you didn’t include Etihad in your Middle East airline rankings seeing as they’re on par with Emirates and Qatar to an extent
Although, Airways should provide some level of decent food, ambiance, service etc. Still, they are just planes, not hotels. The most important thing for me as a frequent flyer is good food and polite service. Other things are always debatable since everybody has a different height&weight, or may like a specific color scheme. Tbh, these are not really worth mentioning. If I am taking a 3-4 hours flight, I wouldn't expect a menu (in economy class), just serve me a decent meal. Also, you can pretty much always ask for a snack or a drink, in most cases Turkish Airlines wouldn't reject.
I flew Turkish airlines for a 16 hour flight and a 4 hour flight about a year ago. They gave us a blanket (1 for each seat) as well as the same hygiene kit. They also did give us snacks throughout the flight. And they had a menu. But the food was horrible it was soggy and not that great. As well as me and my mother both got food poisoning from it.
I was really surprised to see the Turkish examples, I last flew them in 2015 and it felt like there were so many, "extras"! Looks like they cut corners after 2020, sorry to see it
On my route with Emirates economy Cebu-Dubai-Krakow personal items are counted as part of the carryon total 7kilo. That's not what I would expect from such elite airline.
when I was comparing ticket prices for Bangalore (India) too London Heathrow I found that the emirates was one of the cheapest it was 45,000 rupees and Qatar was somewhere in the 70000, this is why I chose emirates and I didn't feel like I paid a premium.
We flew from Istanbul to Miami (12 hours) with turkish airlines. The food was really good but the space was bad, pretty tight und very few legroom (I'm 6'1) if i had not had the seat at the outside where i could stretch my legs I would freak out
I live in Australia, so Turkish is not an option for us (for now). And I remember DXB only offers 30 minutes free WiFi back in 2017. Maybe they've changed.
I live in Australia and use Turkish Business class for annual trip to Spain , tend to connect in Singapore after using Singapore Airlines for the leg from Melbourne. Next time connecting in Bangkok and using Thai Airlines for return from Bangkok on final leg, so it can be done by connecting to Turkish flights in Asia. I heard at the end of last year that Turkish Airlines are trying to land in Australia.
Turkish airlines might be cheaper but the only time I flew them on a long distance flight of 10-11hrs they lost my luggage, seats were uncomfortable, no snacks either, also flights were late. To me SWISS airlines was much better
I don’t think that Turkish is on the same level as Emirates or Qatar Airways. Maybe you should’ve compared Singapore Airlines, ANA, EVA Air or Cathay Pacific instead. They are maybe more on par with the airlines from the Persian gulf. I can say I have flown on Singapore Airlines and Emirates and they are pretty evenly matched. From the pictures I have seen in your video I’m absolutely sure that Turkish Airlines is not comparable to Emirates or even further to Singapore Airlines which are like the best of the best
Turkish Airlines is not a Middle Eastern airline. The correct terminology is "6th Freedom airline"; an airline carrying passengers and cargo from a second country to a third country by stopping in one's own country: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freedoms_of_the_air#Sixth_freedom
Hey Dan, this series was amazing and Thank you for the efforts you put to make such genuine & unbiased content. ❣️ Also, can we see a South Asian/ Southeast Asian comparison in future?? Pls reply to it. Thank you
Ive travelled on Emirates 6 times in the last 2 years , 5 times economy and once business and have to say they are one of the best , totally agree with this. I feel like Qatar edges it slightly but its very close.
QR and EK; torn between two lovers, feeling like a fool. Yeah, I've been with QR for a couple years now, after many years with EK. Yeah, I'm one First World fool.
Travelled with qatar and Emirates economy. Emirates:- food was decent.but the aircraft is way too overwhelming. The decorations feel a bit too much.the seats are pretty good. The staff is extremely polite and helps you a lot even the ground staff of Dubai airport are great Qatar:- the food is better imo, also the extra ehead rest they provide makes it comfortable. The flight overall is not as decorative like emirates its actually very basic which i like. Qatar airport have extremely polite and helpful crew. I missed my flight because of delay, they were kind enough to provide me hotel + new ticket with no additional cost. I would honestly say Qatar is a bit better, but either of the airline is going to help you alot unlike indian airlines who just dont care about the customers. If you are travelling international prefer Qatar/Emirates. Their service and hospitality even if you are flying economy and not a previlige club memeber is unmatched. Blindly choose these airlines for international travel.
Hello, I want to ask for Turkish Airlines if 1 person gets 30 kg of baggage allowance, can the 30 kg be divided into two suitcases. For example, one suitcase weighs 13 kg and another suitcase weighs 10 kg. The two suitcases went into the trunk, not the cabin. Is that allowed?
For Economy: fly SQ For Premium Eco: fly SQ For Business: fly Qatar (Qsuite!) For First: fly Emirates (shower at 40k feet) For Suites: fly SQ (hotel room at 40k feet)
I flew Qatar last week. Is there any reason why Qatar makes you use the bus gates when there are dozens of A350s (which are facing structural issues with their engines sealed) parked at the gates of the main terminals? I mean is it Covid concerns or something? Not that I know how it would help. It was just a bizzare experience. If it was peak hour and there were no available gates, that would be understandable but this made no sense
Ooookkk... BUT you flew the oldest aircraft of Qatar and Turkish. The 350`s and 787`s of Qatar and Turkish are much more modern. And on all flights, you can eat as much as you want.
