It would be nice to see different GPS options compared to closed loop traverse especially in difficult conditions like canopy cover. My experience has shown me that most anything works in the open sky, but the breaking technology is in eliminating multi-path errors.

Newbie here. Amazing videos by the way! Excuse my lack of understanding here. If I were to use let’s say an RS3 as a rover without a base station nor connection to CORS network, am I still able to get relative accuracy if I set my first data point as a zero benchmark and take subsequent point readings from there by using the Emlid Castor or Flow apps?

Rami, I asked in your last video (you may not have seen it) is it possible to get a reliable "fix" solution using a older RS+ as a base and upgrade to the rs2 or rs3 for my rover? Using 2 rs+ now and fix isn't reliable and drops out a lot, especially near trees. have you tested it this way? can you? i would perfer to simply upgrade the rover and not have to fork over the $ for a base as well. Local Ntrip isn't an option in my "boonies" area

Do the RSC 2 & 3 both get all of the satellite configurations & under trees? If the RSC2 achieves less than the RSC3 it is best to have both base & rover the same. For example if you have a regular non-Glonass receiver as the base, the Glonass capable rover cannot be provided Glonass corrections. I do want an answer to my first question please.

Have you already tested an antenna to increase the range of Radio Lora on the RS2? I'm seeing some videos that show good results just by changing the antenna without needing external radios.

It appears Emlid is a good product. The speed seems to be about the only negative. Using engineered files does not seem to be discussed. As a contractor i am not gathering information, my job is to build what has been designed. Showing products and workflow for contractors would be helpful. Second request, why are student being offered a discount and not everyone? Encouraging students to attend is great. I dont know the format for the event, that said, students don't buy products and business owners make business decisions. Encouraging students to go further, think different, explore options, does have long term benefits. I remember my days learning token ring, ahh memories.

The bad thing that they have ublox chip with 184 channel while septentrio masaic x5 chip has 1760 channel and cost like 300$ more, so they could implement it or even with unicore chip 1408 channel , I dont know why they keep ublox only

Yes. That is available across all 3 receivers featured in this video. With that said, you need an NTRIP subscription, of course

Can you have the Rs2 or Rs3 device as a base, and Rx as a Rover for RTK connection with radio?

Not through radio. You can set up a local ntrip or use Emlid caster with the RS2/RS3 as a base and enter the credentials in the RX rover.

I hear tripod and legs are most accurate from a few surveyors. I don't understand that. A fixed height rod with a 3 leg thumb release eliminates human error on measuring the h.i. just my opinion but I have found in my years of experience that human error is the biggest cause of errors. By using a fixed height rod, you are eliminating a possible error.

It has more to do with stability, and having the Base station directly over the point. When the Pole leveled using a bipod vs using a tribracket on a tripod, the tripod is more accurate. Human error is a completely different source of error, we're talking about systematic errors.

I’m going to pretty much echo the same points as Rami, with some addition: it also depends on what you’re looking to get out of a particular GNSS observation. If you’re looking for better height accuracy, then I would agree that using a pole + bipod is the way to go. If you’re looking for a better horizontal accuracy, then having the ability to set the receiver over a point with high accuracy (such as the case with tripods + tribrach) would be better. All of this ignore the fact that most RTK GNSS receivers have accuracy levels that would eliminate any differences between the two methods (2cm for horizontal, 5cm for vertical) ✌️

I don't believe the RS2/RS2+ have an IMU built in.

Possibly for the same reason that DJI doesn't have all the features in all the models. For example the Phantom 4 Pro had a global shutter and all the video and photo settings available. The mavic 3 doesn't offer everything in in one drone like the Phantom 4 Pro did. It's just marketing, just the way to get more money for the products. If it's still the best value on the market, I guess you can't blame them
