Emma Saunders is 36 years old, from London, and is a creative with main sources of work as an actor/ photographer. She was prescribed Ativan for tinnitus during the pandemic for 6 months, and was subsequently cold turkey’d off under a doctor’s advice. She experienced a severe withdrawal that got her sectioned three times, two of them by force. She was plugged with a concoction of drugs, pulled off and put on and experienced other worldly experiences. However, somehow she’s still here and still standing, by a real miracle, and feels passionately about making a difference. She feels that you can’t see and experience a world like this and not speak up! Through her art she has started to create, with a documentary on the way all about the dangers of psychiatric medications, she intends to show the rawness of the experience coming off, as well as using her acting background to make videos about her experience. She intends to keep speaking up as long as she is here. Together we are stronger.

What a wonderful conversation. Shouldn't all conversations be this open, free, fearless and liberating. You can start right now. Talk to people like like they matter. You might change their life and you might change your own.

Thank you for this candid conversation. There is a throughline of resiliency and grounded determination in your interviews, and it's a great service. And big kudos to Emma for taking it at her pace, listening to her body and for all the good work she's doing as well! People please comment so that these conversations appear for more people who need to hear them!!

I feel like her still at 22 months out. God all the wards and cops here know who I am. After the several times I attempted never made to take anything. I did try php program I was in 1.5 years tried antidepressants but failed. Tried shrooms felt ok for a couple of hours then bam back to akathisia. Smoked weed that didn’t work. Before this at the detox I escaped from they were going to send me to ward. I refused came home on a plane insane. I just had dental work done and I’m worse. Fuck antipsychotic meds. Tried them all because I was told I was bipolar zyprexa is a super benzo that’s the reason why they prescribe for benzo withdrawals. If you ever need another survivor to interview I would be more than happy. Thank you for the videos and gives me something to look forward to to listen to I’ve been like you and having to do this by myself. I worked a little bit today out of my storage unit listing stuff for sale I’m thinking about going ahead and going to work for the local psych ward trying to get a job fingers crossed I get something soon I need to get back to work I’ve been working this whole time except I got Covid and lost my job at the zoo. I have to say the PHP program I did at that psych ward saved my life my therapist was the man that did the interview for interrogation of the bombing Of Terry Nichols and Timothy McVeigh for the Oklahoma City bombing he worked for the FBI prior to becoming a therapist at the psych ward I bet I could get him to do an interview with you also I changed their minds about benzodiazepine withdrawal he believe me every day and listen to me. I do not feel unsafe when I go there I know they cannot help me but the therapy is really good distraction especially for the morning doom

I watched the documentary recently 'Panorama BBC' - it did not get across the horrors and duration of benzo withdrawal...good job Emma for making a gritty film.. at least you can draw on your own experiences

Love this. Love Emma. Thank you. Important for everyone to remember that many people don’t stabilize like that. Most everyone I know just got sicker with the drug. Probably why we all CTed. If I could have ever stabilized I might have tapered. Nothing worked.

I was very clear about that during the interview. Yes! This is not medical advice!

Great conversation. I appreciate the openness and honesty. It's conversations like this that help me appreciate how strong I am to have survived mega doses of poly pharmacy and now to be 100 percent psych drug free now for over a month.

Angie and Emma, THANK YOU SO MUCH. I am in the midst of a horrific 2 year luvox withdrawal nightmare and while my doc tries to help nothing she tries works. I have been hospitalized three times. What a horror!!! But the worst part for me is this disabled me to the point where I had to move in with my mother who does not understand and is in fact hostile in every way. I call the suicide hotline but no one can seem to help me find a support system. I am in this totally alone and broken. Advice??????😢😢

Her trying to fix it probably made it worse. Please watch the movie MEDICATING NORMAL. Then start reading www.survivingantidepressants.org. You can also visit my website: www.angiepeacock.com

@@AngiePeacockMSW you are right about the doc harming me but I can't find one in my small town who knows anything about this. I am having to do all the heavy lifting for her and it is wearing me down. If I ever get my disability case won I am definitely going to contact you. This journey through hell has also destroyed me financially. Where are the lawsuits for all this malpractice and harm??? Anyway your videos are of some comfort knowing I am not alone in this. Thanks for sharing and reaching out.

Quetiapine is a brutal drug. It took me years and years to get off 1200mg of Seroquel/Quetiapine
