Before this event took place, Emma spoke of the honor she felt at having been invited to perform at this Liberation Day Concert last Sept. 2023. The concert was held at the American Cemetery at Margraten not far from Emma's hometown of Kerkrade. As an American, I very much appreciate her performance. It was a powerful interpretation; done with a passion and depth in perfect harmony with the solemnity of the occasion. I am so impressed with this extraordinary young artist. It's not just her voice, and the technical ability with which she wields it, but her innate understanding of the emotional impact required to make a performance like this something very special and memorable is just off the charts. There are not many singers who are conveying emotions when they perform.... Emma does just that. That's not acting; it is a gift she has, probable not even realizing that herself. She just sings her heart out because singing is her passion and maybe she is asking herself every time why people are starting to be emotional. And probably no one can explain it: it just happens.....
IMO she is Lara Fabian true singning daughter. Her hability to convay emotion and the controle on her voice make her wonderfull singner. I can't wait to see how she'll devlope over the years.

Saeed, thank you for another response to Emma's undoubted skill at delivering a performance that will not just enthral people, but that will also reach deep into their hearts and minds, I've spent quite some time in recent weeks contemplating how she does what she does, and I've come to the conclusion that it's down to an additional aspect of her personality, she's had some very hard knocks during her life, being born with gastorparesis meant that her life experience was going to be completely different to the sorts of things that would be normal when growing up, and at some stage, and we don't know when it happened, Emma found that singing was her therapy, her release, her way of finding some freedom from the awful restrictions and limitations that come as a result of being on tube feeding for 22 hours a day, Emma has taken every aspect of her life experience, the good, the bad and the (her words) completely weird, and has moulded those experiences into a positive for her life, and while it doesn't properly describe it, she has a powerful vulnerability that most people don't have, and it gives her an edge that allows her to expose the real deep and emotional Emma in a way that draws people in, and then once she has them drawn in, she is able to put a huge emotional squeeze on to them, and it results in her songs being able to reach deep into feelings that in some cases have been suppressed for years, and the result is often the release of very strong emotions, simply because Emma's choice of songs is not a light thing, she is very selective about the songs she sings, and that's down to the very limited time each day when she can be truly free to perform. What has hugely impressed me is that Emma's own life experience has given her an insight into life that's very different to most of us, at the end of another song from this same event, You Raise me up, duet with Nico Wouterse, notable for the closing line by Emma, 'I will tell them, for as long as I can' ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-baH0JQsLo3c.html Emma is being faced by her own life expectancy, and her words are so deep, it's clear that she's been faced with the harsh reality that her own life expectancy is uncertain, only a few months earlier, a close friend, Angela, died of the same disease, and Emma sang a deeply moving song as a tribute to a dear friend, and it closed with more words, 'Yeah, I know, you'll tell me when I get there', a recognition that she can't be sure how her life will proceed, it's a beautiful and very deep song, and as always, Emma invested herself into the delivery. One of their main people is a surgeon who has a lot of experience in dealing with gastroparesis, and she is not only a surgeon, but also suffers from the same disease herself, to the extent that as a result of her condition worsening, she's had to leave her role in the hospital, and she is now dedicated to the foundation, and working to help find possible new treatments, or even better the cure that will free people like Emma to live a more normal life, rather than be tied to the feeding pumps for so many hours every day. It will be so good if the work of Emma's foundation can lead to a better treatment, or even a cure, which will free her to do more singing, and it may be people here who make that possible.

I took your reaction with me and it deepenes my experience with this song. But also to Emma and other songs. This lyrics with her performance, gives this powerful song from Demi, new meaning to me. I want to add something. See the 'sound man' in the background breaking from the start, but genuinely crying at the end. The song means something to him as it obviously did to you, and certainly did to me.
