Sometimes we see church service in this world in corporate terms. We think that if you serve as bishop, stake president or seventy, then we can make a great contribuiton to the church. We see church service as a "career path", going up. But no. It really doesnt matter where we serve. Just like the parable of the servants, some work all day, some half and some an hour, but everyone got the same pay. For sister Emma the office of her calling was to comfort JS. If you read it you can see that as something like obvious, minor. Meanwhile DyC25 says that she can write, teach, etc. To our eyes things much more important that to "comfort Joseph". But just as Hyrum, she received the most important calling, but for our "mortal eyes" she received the leftovers. For Hyrum was to keep the commandments. What? Just that?. Everybody is receiving callings to go to other countries, ordain high priests, all that and Hyrum just to keep the commandments. My ways are not thy ways said the Lord and is so true. He knows what is important to do, not our eyes. As Obi Wan Kenobi said: "your eyes can deceive you so dont trust them". For sister Emma that was the most important calling: comfort Joseph. And why? Because Joseph was somewhat like an easy depressing person. He could very high abd he could be very low. And just like all of us men: we really need the comfort that come from our wifes. It is good to man to be alone? No, is not good. Why? Well, one of the answers is why the Lord gave to sister Emma the calling to comfort Joseph
