LeCarpetron Dook-marriot i'd rather play for an established coach like Roy Williams, Mike K, Bill Self, etc. than just play for a coach who was a successful player. Just because he was a successful player doesn't quite mean he's a fantastic coach.
LiqCharles Yeah I agree, alot more important for these "stars" to stay grounded near home and family, rather than jeopardize their futures at schools far away where they will be tempted by anyone and everything to gain on their fame or future prospect. Plus your coach is Larry Brown, who wouldn't want to play for a successful NBA coach and have connections to the NBA.
I feel like when highly recruited athletes commit to lower prestigious programs it's more of a statement. Its like he's saying "I don't need the big stage and bright lights to shine. I'll shine where ever I'm at." And although it is a risky move, he is more likely to establish a greater legacy if he helps SMU have any major success while he is there, rather than go to some five star program and become just another one of their many greats. He has a huge challenge ahead of him on the next level and I admire his decision to accept it.
he plays like jrue but he's a lot more gifted: bigger, more athletic, and he's an even better passer w/ great feel for the game. jrue is nasty but he's not an elite PG imo
