Played by the world top flute player (Pahud) and harpsichord player (Trevor Pinock). Great recording. It is so unique that Pahud with a modern golden flute is able to sound like a traverso wooden flute but at 440 still with warm sound. The Bach baroque ornaments are respected herein so in respect of the ''old Bach''. Unique and respectful as Glen Gould was for Bach as well. Thanks EMI, Trevor and Emmanuel!
Hang on Dan, that sounds like a baroque wooden flute to you? The spectral range is way different, it's much brighter than any wooden flute. If you love it, that's great, but for me, it's too clean... I prefer to hear it played on a baroque flute.
It is bright and cheerful gorgeous sound of lightly flowing sound system scale Shapu great Sonata in E flat major, flutist Emmanuel Payubahha in E flat major, BWV 1031 music is really beautiful! Sound quality is amazing beautiful video clip Thank you! Mira from Japan (SGL)
Played the harpsichord part with an amazing flute-playing friend, something amazing. We're looking at the B-minor sonata now. Much harder, in my opinion, but I absolutely love the chromatics.
Really nice flute performance (player) I like beautiful tone sound of the flute (I might feel the mellow taste of coffee in the morning or increasingly darker more?)
For a commercial recording I am surprised by the imbalance between flute and harpsichord. Good intonation from the flutist, but why presenting twice Allegro moderato and not the final Allegro?
Say, I am looking for your flute/harpsichord recording of the second and third movements - the Siciliano Allegro. This clip has the wrong Allegro on the back end of the Siciliano. My flute student, and her college music major piano/harpsichord accompanist are playing this piece this Sunday for our worship service. The church has a harpsichord that they recently tuned for this piece. Any chance you can direct me to the right Allegro recording? thank you, Tina Persson, Minnesota, USA
