Graham is much more interesting than most hard men on Emmerdale. Tough, maybe, but they're usually boring, underdeveloped meatheads that punch away their problems. Cain's just become a deus ex machina type he's so one note. But yeah, Graham actually works being shrouded in mystery. It's good to see Emmerdale slowly recovering from Oates' days as producer, hopefully, Corrie can do the same someday.
And I have read that it was Michael Parr's intention. (Michael Parr is the actor who plays Ross, the victim of the acid attack). A soap opera is usually a work of fiction but I have read that the idea of this storyline is based about some real facts: in an interview, Michael Parr told that the idea comes from a friend who saved a real victim of an acid attack; this friend of him help this man while the other simply observed. Also the fact of a mistaken identity is based on a real fact: probably I am speaking about an other man, but I have read that also the fact that the victim ought to be somebody else is inspired by a real fact: an other victim of this attack had been attacked because he was confused with someone else: also in the real world we have a case of someone attacked by acid and the victim ought to be someone else. Guido.
I have done first aid course but I didn't know that you have to take victims clothes away (I asume because they have acid spilled on them?) and try to douse the burns with huge amount of water straight away. So even if this was bit hard to watch I actually learned something new. I still think Emmerdale took a risk with this storyline, I only hope they do it properly.
Starshii Any jewellery and clothes should be taken off, they just make the process worse. Imagine the extra heat of having clothes over a burn. Unbearable pain. It’s probably mostly to do with having the fabric away from tarnishing the wounds more and to douse it with water like you say.
After the attack, the screaming was much more convincing. The dialogue from Joe could still use some work, though and why did they take his shirt off? It wasn't like was stabbed, they just wanted to show off some abs.
the acid makes the clothes burn into the skin, and make the scars more severe. Imagine having a wound that starts to heal - but in it there's cloth. If you wait to remove the cloth until then, it will leave bigger scars.
The acid can soak threw the clothes and burn the rest of your body. Graham is a legit Hardman if he knows to flush the skin with water. He must have really been in the trenches.
