Neither did my Dad, he had his in 2020. It’s beyond describable how sudden, devastating and unfair it is. Bless you ❤️

Normally I find soaps to be a bit meh but every now and again they do an episode like this that just blows me away. Doing it from Marlons point of view made it feel more real somehow. And absolutely phenomenal acting

Inside Marlon's head,you can hear what he is trying to say to April out loud,but he can't,so he has to think it instead 😭😭😭😭. April is trying to be brave,but she is far too scared 😪😪😪

My Dad also had an ischemic stroke in August 2021, what a way to re-live those moments eight months ago in a half hour episode I must say. Clot wasn't able to be removed like Marlon's so his recovery is more long term

I know no one may see this. But my dad had a major stroke on 31.12.21 (his birthday, nearly 2022). This story line came out this same time we were dealing with dad and his situation. It is the most traumatic experience I have ever experienced, to this day I talk to and dad, making the decisions (when I know he’s still there in his mind). When it first happened we got told to say goodbye but 2 and a half years later he really is living his best life. 2 years later, he is still nonverbal and paralysed, but he has a different outlook on life. A note to stroke- you have taken my dad’s voice and independence, but you will never take away his spirit, love of life and humour. We will laugh at you☺️☺️☺️

It would be better if they portray this realistically and have the character recover but only partially. Most stroke sufferes either sadly die or end up with a lifetime disability. Something tells me they will go for the oh look he's completely better by the end of the year, because it's very hard to act like this permanently and even harder to write scripts and obviously viewers get very bored quickly. However that was superb acting by Mark. Ironically today is the 15th year since I had a heart attack, and I've always lived in fear of a stroke as they are both linked by clots in the heart and brain
@crappygamer4927

Yeah not sure how realistic it was (never seen/had a stroke.) however, pretty sure they left chris tate in a wheel chair for a good while

I had a stroke in 2020 at just 29 years old, you're right that nobody ever fully recovers. I had a right side stroke and I'm left with left side weakness and lack of feeling still now. I have to have a leg brace to keep my foot in place, I'm very fortunate to have recovered as much as I have but no, never will I be the same as before

@@fallenscientist2073 I'm so sorry to hear your story. That is very young to suffer a stroke. You do sound a very positive person which I'm sure has helped you through difficult and emotional times. The important thing to remember is you're still you, no matter how severe the stroke, you the person haven't really changed. You are different but still beautiful and vibrant. Your scars and disabilities make you special. Remember imperfect really means I'm perfect. You are very brave, be proud for you survived, and we both know that not everyone survives strokes or heart attacks xxxx

@@kikianne8788 thank you so much for your kind words, it's been an extremely difficult journey to go on, I am very grateful for having lived through it, some days are just harder than others and it's sometimes difficult to remember to appreciate that I'm still here and I'm one of the lucky ones who relearned to read, write and speak. Just have to keep it in perspective on bad days xxxx

@@alexanderjones9572 Some people do recover almost completely, over long periods of time...........I'm 18 months post stroke now, still can't walk well, limited use (about 50%) of my left arm, can't shower properly, use a knife and fork, constant pain, mood swings, short term memory loss, impared vision, constant fatigue, insomnia do I need to go on?

I know of at least three times ( including this) a character had a stroke. Terry Woods in 2003- and, in the early nineties, Amos Brearly.

@tinahills3697
@tinahills3697 2 года назад
@@normallynormal3573 His character has long run its course. Rhonda has been written out so naturally they would get him of him as well. He really does not offer much to the show. His character has been getting worse every year. Well over due for exit.
