Despite deep conversations, Moira was reluctant to act on the plan, and asked what would happen if she backed out or told Cain. Faith, resolutely, said: “You won’t see me again.”
As chance would know it, Cain then entered, but was still unaware as to what the pair were talking about.
After Cain left, Moira outlined her plan, saying she would go back home with the place to herself, believing this way to be “much kinder”.
After being called stubborn, she then described herself as “annoying” and “pig-headed”, before becoming emotional at the prospect of not seeing her children again.
Moira then tried once more to dissuade Faith, but the latter was steadfast in her conviction.
After she gauged Cain’s thoughts on mortality by referencing the death of her own mother, Moira then accompanied Faith to the woods, saying that “no one should have to make a choice like this”.
She then revealed her decision, letting Faith know she wouldn’t help her with the plan, but she would be there for her stepmother when she goes through with it.
In a delicate closing shot, the pair hugged through plenty of tears, and will now have to come to terms with their decision in future episodes.
