Omg if this is the way people act with that kind of news its no wonder people are scared to tell people anything you have years they have months if my mum ever said she has cancer I couldn't be mad at her at all I would just try to make her last few months as Happy as possible and deal with what comes next it's that or complete regret
My sister in law had cancer and died in 2019. Her mother sent her disgusting texts and told her she hated her and was glad she was dying. The mother even refused to visit her daughter when the end was near. Refused to help plan the funeral or get involved. It made me sad and i was left to organise everything by myself. People are cruel.
