So glad they finally rediscover the King, Benny Carter, and his legacy (Marshal Royal, Earl Bostic). Particularly delighted by the Hodges tinge worked into that elegant fabric.

What music do you mean in particular from the 30s/40s? I only recently discovered Eddie Barbash on the live session EP from Cody Fry and just love his style of playing and his sound. I would like to discover more stuff similar to his playing and maybe aim to get a sound and style like that myself :D

He has a very old school 1920's kind of tone and style to the way he plays. It's very reminiscent to me of Rudy Weidoeft but mixed with a smoother big band era sound ala Johnny Hodges.

Sure he sounds like himself but he clearly pays hommage to the cats mentioned which is perfectly fine, isn't it? He clearly spent a fair amount of time studying the old masters and he shows that which I personally really enjoy. Obviously he can turn it on and off as he chooses
