If you think it’s time for Moose to be in the Hall of Fame and Ring of Honor alongside Emmitt Smith for the contributions he’s given to America’s Team, gimme a “Hell Yeah!”
Let's see here...whats your job at fullback...block, for who? Foe your running back primarily...ok that's your job...got it Now, how do we measure how good you did your job? Well we would have to look at how well the running back did and how consistently he was able to get thru the line of scrimmage behind his lead blocker.... So now let's take a look here...18000 yards??? Ok so this guy blocked for the same guy for 18000 yards....uhhh what else do you want?
Man every time I watch this it almost make me cry. Emmitt Smith speech was heart felt and passionate. With out moose he would have not gotten that rushing title.
im a huge 49er fan and that was awesome to hear the crowd chanting mooooooooooooooooooooooosssssssssssssssseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee what an awesome speech ...
Thank you, for your Respect and i'm proud of your team 49rs , of Having the Greatest Quaterback in NFL History, Joe Montana, Wide reciver Jerry Rice. Thank you again, And Thanks to Emmitt smith and the Tripplets
See, this is how fandom should be. I'm a Cowboys fan but respect the shit out of the 49ers because that rivalry has given us some of the greatest moments in football. We can all love the game without being pieces of shit to each other. Good on you for being an example of that.
He's 1 of my top 3 all time favorite players. The fact he gave all the credit to our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ, makes me love and respect Emmitt even more.
The fact that Emmitt has the balls to thank everyone who contributed to his success shows how humble he is. The fact that Moose, to Emmitt, is one rung on the ladder higher speaks to how these two men focused, and understood their roles, and dominated for years together.
One of the greatest ever. He has the rushing title and he gave all to get it. I'm a Cowboy fan but I recognize Payton, Brown and Sanders as greatness as well.

I saw this live. Now that I see it again, it is JUST AS GREAT an acceptance speech as what I thought it was, the first time I saw it. His tribute to his fellow triplets, and especially the tribute to Moose, almost had me tearing up, too. Nothing but class.
+Tyrone R. Upp I do wish they hadn't cut this. It's still amazing he did this whole speech without reading at all and the fact that he called out every one of his lineman and other fullbacks that led the way.
A rb never wants to admit that there fb did most of the work but there love and passion for one another lead them to be succesful. Moose did the right thing dtaying humble
Fuck man what an awesome speech. The bond between those 2 is incredible. That's what football is all about and that's why I fell in love with the sport
One of the greatest warriors that I ever had the honor to watch play football. Even with a sprain shoulder, he continue playing and led the cowboys to a victory and the east title over the hated giants in 1993 and eventually a super win that same year. Those were great times.
Two of the best FBs in the NFL, are Moose and Zonk (Larry Csonka), both FBs that excelled in college @ Syracuse and in the NFL. I am fortunate to have had the opportunity to meet and speak with both
I actually played high school football with Daryl Johnston back at Lewiston porter back in Youngstown new York Daryl actually played tailback and outside linebacker on defense and he was our team punter and place kicker
Woodson possibly. Williams would have been if it weren’t for that car accident. The list of Cowboys who should be in the hall of fame starts with 5x first team all pro Chuck Howley.
The way he lead up to moose shows he wasn't playing around...he thanked Aikman and Irvin yes and he meant it...but, for moose, he set aside a whole other segment because he knows without a doubt, he wouldn't be there without him...without Aikman or Irvin he MIGHT have (sont get me wrong they were great but hypothetically in some.paradoxical world, the cowboys traded those two out and ended up with Dan Marino and Cris Carter, which is very comparable)...emitt still would have broken the record as long as he had moose
Emmitt crying out of love cause he knows Moose has/going to have CTE so he could get into the HOF is the most oddly beautiful thing ever. Glad a FB got some shine. They were battering Rams 30 years ago
He should have thanked the Minnesota Vikings for trading a king’s ransom for Herschel Walker, which the Cowboys parlayed into the pick they used to select Emmitt.
Emmitt always gets choked up talking about Moose. What he did for Emmitt will never show in stats or scores. He didn't always get all the glory but Emmitt, Troy, Michael, the whole team knew without Moose there is no Emmitt or Super Bowls.
This video was uploaded in 2010. I am watching it in 2022. And I'm asking the same question that I asked back then: Why Isn't Daryl MOOOOSE Johnston In The NFL HOF???
I guess it's just me but at the beginning of this at least it looks like Jerry Jones is looking at Emmett like who the hell do you think you are? I'm sure it's just me. As far as Moose Johnson goes that would bring up a great point Deion Sanders made about too many people getting in the Hall of Fame... sorry personally I don't see moose getting in... but you know what I've always hated the Cowboys. Let's go Packers and Steelers... the two teams that have always owned the Dallas Cowboys! Been a long time since anyone said how about them Cowboys hasn't it hahaha
Funny, the last time Pitt and Dallas met in the Superbowl...Dallas won. And own a winning record all-time against them. And the 3 playoff meetings with Green Bay in the '90's...Dallas won all of them. Soooo, they didn't own Dallas then.
