Aw, I can't tell you how excited I am right now that you were tasting my vegan candy! Yay! I'm ill right now and you totally made my day and left me sitting here all smiley and cheerful. So glad you liked my vegan treats, it was incredibly hard to choose from all the wonderful animal-free candy you can find here. Also very interesting to hear you've been vegan! I moved to Germany from the UK a couple of years ago and I have to say that I really get the impression that vegetarianism/veganism is progressing here, a lot of people seem to be getting into it, whereas in the UK it seems like it's the opposite, there USED to be a lot of vegetarians and now there are fewer and people are wearing fur again and getting into taxidermy which is just WEIRD. So it's depressing about my former country but nice that Germany is really progressing. :)

Pristy Bhuguna The problem is that the vegan way is not good for animals either. WWF, the actually nature saving company, is responsible for cutting down forests for Soja fields. Forests with wild animals such as monkeys. we either eat animals or plants. whatever we do, animals got to suffer. the only way out is chemical food or get your own farm

Going Vegan is not sacrificing any of our desired...Isnt it decent if we dont consume meat and diary? I turned into a Vegan because I love animals and i deeply feel they deserve to live their life just like we do... Atleast i know im not paying for the cruelty and slavery all those animals go through throughout their lives till the day they die! Well most of the soya harvested is used to feed cattles...We cannot change the way people live but we can do our parts! Yes i am very careful to read the ingredients before buying something!

Pristy Bhuguna I gave up on that. Since I found out that my favourite vegan products kill animals in a different way, I dont want to take the effort to read carefully every day. I feel betrayed by some products and their companies. They know how to describe or even hide the details. What I can check easily by tasting and feeling is if the chicken or pig I eat had a good life or was kept in a tiny dark room. It is okay to be vegan if you say you do not want to eat anything from animals. But saving them is mostly a lie.

wow! I was pleasantly surprised to see you tasting vegan treats! I was supposed to be studying but just had to watch this video. I'm really glad you were able to show that eating vegan isn't some sort of sacrifice of happiness--many people picture veganism as sitting in a grass field with bony elbows and munching on cabbage. So not the case! I try my best to have a vegan diet and eat a lot of delicious food every day :)

HiHowAreYou I was vegetarian for a couple months years ago, kind of the same thing but not, but switched back because what i didn’t realize was that i relied mostly on meat for protein, and so when i switched off, i lost about 20 pounds off my original 120, 5’4 figure at the time, i am 5’7 currently. Parents noticed it and had me get back on a meat diet. I had zero energy, couldn’t get out of bed because i was losing muscle mass and was basically becoming anorexic. I would love to be vegetarian, but no matter what recipe me or my mother cooked for me, full of good stuff, it would not stay on my bones and it made me severely unhealthy. I suppose it isn’t for everyone, unfortunately.

@SummerEve It is possible to make something gummy without gelatin. You can note how she mentions the particularly different texture (more like jello). That gelatin substitution is probably the cause of the different texture.

emmymadeinjapan Bacon contains more fat than protein, actually its protein content is not even worth mentioning, as same for the nutritional benefits in all categories (I would even say it is unhealthy). Could it be just the craving for the taste?

Germany also has many lactose-and gluten-free products. I love it that there is such a thing here. and whether you are a vegan or simply has an intolerance, you can still live well and its yummy too

Thanks for this video, especially the gummies. I'm lacto vegetarian and have been for 25 years. In all that time, I've really missed gummy sweets because the vast majority of manufacturers use gelatin rather than pectin or agar and it's soul destroying reading the ingredients on the packaging when out shopping. It's hard to find other types of sweets without gelatin as well - for example, I haven't had extra strong mints, or my favourite of all time - parma violets - for more than half of my life because most corner shops in the UK only stock the cheap mass produced sweets marketed at those who don't stop and think about just what goes into the things that they consume.

+Negligent Gamer the solution to that would to be use up what is around and then stop breeding those animals for the purpose of consumption. The only reason there are that many animals is because we breed that many into existence.

Amanda Crawford That doesnt make sense, what else would farmers then have to do make a living? switching is not easy to for farmers not too mention expensive. The real problem is with the major companies that dont care about the animals live and are treated.

I am not vegan but even as child i like the vegan gummybears more. Thats because i think that gelatine takes away the taste of the juice so there don't have much taste as the vegans do and i really really love how soft there are.

Id love to be vegan but I just love steak, milk, hamburgers, cheese, bacon, ice cream, shrimp, fish, clams, mussels, scallops so damn much. So I just sit back with some beef jerky and forget about it.
