I read an interesting Rolling Stones article talking about how hit songs are hardly ever written by a solitary single writer these days….but one of the few exceptions was Tyler Joseph who had like 3 of the top songs by himself (in the 2010s). This guy is insane. He does it all.

So excited that you checked out another of Tyler's performances! I really love the original song and this is such cool stripped back version, interesting to watch him setting up the looping and stuff. In the lyrics he uses Chlorine as a metaphor for making music ('this beat is a chemical'). It is a purifying chemical and Tyler is drinking it to cleanse himself from the dark thoughts inside him but while songwriting is very cathartic for him, if he over-relies on it, making music can be harmful to his mental health as he often talks about deep topics that can be difficult to delve into, he's quite a perfectionist and always wants the song to sound perfect and now that music is his job ("now you double as a paper maker"), it sometimes gives him a bad taste.

Jeez! You summarized it up quicker than I’ve seen anyone summarize it!!! Good job!! That’s exactly what it’s about! They’re both SOOOO clever with their songwriting! My daughter turned me on to them; and I wanted so badly to hate one of their tracks, but I just CANT!!!!! Everything they put out is just so damn good!!!!

You should definitely listen to the original version if you haven't heard it - he left out a part of the song people really love in this version The song is comparing his music making process to chlorine - in small doses it's cleansing to him but when he gets too caught up in it, it can become toxic

literally, the outro is the most beautiful, amazing, incredible thing. first time i heard this and he left that part out i was so sad lolll cause he did such a beautiful job with this version and he could’ve made a masterpiece out of that part

He is completely wonderful, he is very talented, I love him so much and also Josh Dun. In other comments they explained to you what the song is about and I hope you see or have already seen the video, the creature (Ned) is the representation of Tyler's creativity, he is a genius making metaphors, symbolisms or songs with which we have to think about what it is about but the best thing is that everyone can interpret the way they want. I hope you continue to react to these sessions and you can react to Holding On To You and Goner live both from the Fox Theater, those presentations are incredible. *sorry if my English is not very good*

Tyler Rorschach Joseph, yes, that def works (his middle name is Robert) because switching up the beats and varying the melodies are his specialties. Allowing the listeners to identify their own meanings really is an essential part of what he does lyrically. This song personifies his cathartic relationship to the music he creates. Enjoyed this reaction and I would highly recommend from this same Storyteller Performance Morph, Smithereens, and Ride. Basically all of them. His vocals are absolutely stellar! 💛

Check out Smithereens from the same live performance? I don't have the money to pay for that, unfortunately. That version showcases some of Tyler Joseph's vocal abilities. Yeah, he is multitalented, also some of it is self-taught. Chlorine is about Tyler's creativity, as someone already explained. What makes them different from other bands, that there is always some depth and meaning behind everything, in music and the videos. The last four albums have got lore. Also they include their fans in unique and creative ways. The talent, creativity and uniqueness is what makes their fanbase rock solid.

Hey Miki! I'm rewatching you react to Twenty One Pilots - Chlorine location sessions. A couple months bach they were on MTV Unplugged. I think you'll really enjoy it. The set is anout 40 minutes. I think you'll enjoy it. There's a couple mashups in there. I think you should react to the whole thing, then snip it up if you want shorter sections. Individual videos are available but you'll miss some of the important intros and explanations. One more thing about it. This is big JOSH SINGS!
