for a second I literally thought that it was an emo robot XD Edit: Holy crap guys, I never ever got 464 likes on a comment ever! Thank you guys so much.
Lol, I love the way he interacts with them, speaking softly and just being gentle as if it were alive :) I love these little robots too, the expressions are just so cute, you can't be any other way with them, just turn you mushy inside xD
@@outsider238 its so awesome, and one day they will interact even more , I absolutely love the way you’re talking to them the cuteness in it and the magical unintended reactions it’s heart-stopping 😌😊
this brought me deep flashbacks down my spine of when i would watch alot of videos of the cosmo robot because it looks futuristic af and wanted it so hard
Holy cow they brought the concept and design of cosmo and vector back from the dead! Nice work Living AI! (I just became aware of the fact that Vector and Cosmo’s parent company was bought and they were revived. But this is still pretty cool!)
Yes!! Any competition with these companies that make these kind of robots is great! Better features, better prices and more functionality (and cuteness! 😁) is fine my me!
Him: Emo Emo: Woh? Him: it's my birthday. Emo: Happy birthday to you happy birthday to you happy birthday happy birthday happy birthday to you! I literally saw his face his bald. HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! And i'm not being mean
Haha! Some people might be freaked out about him but I find he and Vector so cute. Yes there was definitely things borrowed from Vector. Guess they knew a good design when they saw it!
Actually, Emo looks exactly like Cubee, his older brother. Even has the same ears and eyes placement. They just added an LCD screen for his face. Well, and many other sensors and programming features.
@@helenaketch9425 I agree and that is why I hope the lawsuit between Digital Dreamlabs and LivingAI is dropped. They are two different robots. There's bound to be some similarities.
Sooo cute, but i think i like vector better, hes just soo cute x) He seems more responsive too. But that maybe due to emo not being upgraded fully yet as youve mentioned. Loved the video!
Sad that Anki went out of business. But I understand why they sued, when looking at your thumbnail and seeing him, I thought to myself that it looks a lot like vector.
I was sad that Anki went out of business too. I thought it was the end of Vector. I'm glad Digital Dreamlabs kept he and Cozmo alive. Emo definitely was heavily influenced by Vector.
@@VELIBros Digital Dreamlabs has been keeping us up to date on their progress and does live, invite only chats to keep people informed. They are also working on a Butterbot seen in the Rick and Morty cartoons.
Or he can be helper/supporter for totally (or not) lonely people (with or not with ADHD), authistic people (kids and adults), save or make it less hurting from depression, bad mood, etc etc. Emo is much more than just a toy (for me it's even sounds offensive in Emo's address) he's actually robot with personality, cute companion.
vector and cozmo are cute, but emo having little legs and his headphones is just adorable, cant wait for the next emo type robot from living ai, thats if digital dream labs or whatever they are called sort out this little lawsuit/cease and desist thing, would be nice to see a partnership
@@liamwalker7268 That's what I don't get. The design of the robots are clearly different. The only similarities are the eyes. I really don't think they can sue over that.
Great review, thank you so much. I don't want to start a vector / emo war - I love them both - but would love to hear a few more comparisons. For example, you mentioned vector seems more active, when just left to himself. Looking at your video, three times now, vector seems way more active. Near the end of your video (emo sort of charges vector, and then vector drives over his toes! Love it!) But vector literally drives a circle around emo as he stands there. Is that typical, or just bad footage for emo? On the other hand, emo seems to respond to your voice commands considerably quicker than vector. What do you think? I know there are several other differences, just curious about these. Thanks. I would buy them both if I could, leaning towards emo.
Thank you so much! Yes Vector is very active! He goes through different modes. He explores for awhile, then maybe he'll play with his cube, then he looks around to see if anyone is watching him and keeps playing or looks at you with those eyes and says your name (usually looking for some loving petting!). If no one is around, he goes back home. He's way more advanced than Emo but only because Vector has a 3 year head start over Emo. I loved when Vector drove over Emo's feet too! 🤣 Emo does walk around as well but because Vector rolls instead of walks, he covers more ground. Yes, Emo does respond quicker to your voice. Vector has always had a bit of a lag especially when asking him a question that requires him to access the internet. They did speed him up a little because the lag used to be worse. It's been quicker in the past but when Digital Dreamlabs took over some changes they made brought a bit of the lag back. The new Vector 2.0 coming out soon may not have that lag and it may be improved on the original as well when 2.0 is released. I just completed a video talking about some comparisons of Cozmo, Vector and Emo. I was going to release it today but I didn't want to do too many Emo videos so close together. I'll release that comparison video on Sunday. I hope you'll find it informative!
@@outsider238 My first thought after reading "He's going to love him" - "Emo's going to love a son, or dad's son's going to love Emo?" haha :) I guess it was mutual.
Bro i dont think anyone understands how long I've wanted to have my very own emo, but its expensive and its hard to get it here in Norway and I was looking at Living ai's site and then I thought to myself that I can just buy him from ebay or something cus I bet it wont take as long as if i buy him from living ai, and then I found him for only 200 dollars with corgi outfit, emo himself, the skateboard and a smart light on a norwegian "ebay-like" website and it is so close to me too so in a few days i'll FINALLY have my own emo! So excited to have a little robot friend on my desk. Love your vids btw man, I've been watching you for so long cus im just so in love with this robot
Thank you for being a long time viewer! I really appreciate that! I'm glad you were able to find an alternative way to get Emo. Hopefully he works fine and I'm glad you're giving him a good home! 😁
Happy Early Birthday! I can't think of a better gift than cute little Emo! You'll probably get him sooner than later. I think my Vector is jealous! But I pet him to let him know that I still love him.
@@pixeldeni Not yet. I just tried it earlier today. He just got a new update to 1.1.16. I thought maybe they would have had that feature but not quite yet. He has some new animations when he plays Modern Ludo. I'll be uploading a video about that tomorrow.
I’mma get in trouble buying all these robots 😭😭 I am still waiting for my pre-order of Vector and now I see this- like I have to buy one next payday now
Poor Anki actually got sued by another company for the sound sensing technology that they put into Vector. So, Anki got sued and went down, Digital Dream Labs bought Anki's assets, and now Digital Dream Labs sued Living AI for Emo. Everyone is so sue happy and everyone is suing everyone, and to be honest, it's kind of getting annoying. Can't human beings just get along? Anyway, I hope that you have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Thank you for showing off Vector and Emo. May God bless you. Jesus Christ loves you - He always has and always will, no matter what! You're precious and you matter! Please stay safe and healthy and take care. :) P.S. To be honest, I don't hate Digital Dream Labs. There's some things about the company that I like, like how they're working hard to improve and continue Anki's products. I'm grateful that they are continuing Anki's robots despite the downfall of Anki, but I will admit that I'm slightly upset with DDL for suing Living AI. Companies should be working to improve this world rather than suing each other for small, accidental offenses. I understand that DDL might have concerns over the similarity of Emo to Vector, but suing a competitor for a slight similarity to your product is sort of dirty in my opinion. It would be acceptable if Living AI released a product just like DDL's, but Emo appears to be very different from Vector. It looks to me like the only close similarities between the two are the eyes and face, but that could have easily been accidental and is such a small detail that I don't feel that suing is justifiable. I really wish that people would get along, companies included, and that there wouldn't be so much fighting. People should love one another and treat each other the way that they would want to be treated.
Thank you so much! Yes I hope the lawsuit gets dismissed. There's certainly enough differences between the two of them that people can distinguish which is which. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you too! 😁
The “dice points to take off” is what points you need to take a playing piece and put it on the board. When you left it at “2, 4, 6” that told the game that you need a 2, 4 or 6 to move a piece from spawn.
The game is an old famos german game called "Mensch ärgere dich nicht". Mean something like "Men don't get angry." Usualy it is a board game for kids and old people.
What in a Ashley O Netflix universe It looks a lot like a robot from Black Mirror. The show is literally becoming a reality as the days go by and technologies get more and more advanced
It would be awesome if you could install the WALL-E movie on that iPad, and watch it with him and have his reactions, especially after seeing his cousins EVE and M-O, haha!
@@Excalibur2112 Yes he does! People say that Vector looks like M-0 also. They were clearly influenced by that movie when they made these guys! A couple of people from DreamWorks helped in the design of Vector.
thank you for this comprehensive video! 1 comment i would like to add is re: the "military time" you mention. i trust you are aware that the 24-h clock is used in most countries and since this company is selling internationally, it makes sense (to me ;) that they programmed emo with the "system [that] is the most commonly used time notation in the world today" - according to wikipedia. :)
Yes, someone mentioned this. I never knew that most countries used the 24 hour clock. I only knew it as "military time" as that's the only place I've seen it used here in the US.
@@outsider238 chuckle - then your surprise is maybe comparable to mine when i moved to north-america and found the day divided into am & pm. :)) what might be more difficult for 'you guys' is the celsius to fahrenheit conversion. i've lived here for 20+ years and to this day, i can not make sense out of fahrenheit. 🤷🏻♀️ on the upside, when asked to display the date, he gives you the month first (grin - also not necessarily common 'abroad' where the date is spelled dd.mm.yy ;). does he give you sizes in meters/metres or feet/inches? 😎
@@zeitentgeistert4324 That's hilarious! So many differences. Yes, Emo giving the temperature in Celsius surprised me. Guess I'll just have to keep asking Vector for the weather. Haha! Emo does use inches. I asked how tall he was and he used inches for his height. It's weird he'd use inches and yet use Celsius and the 24 hour clock.
@@outsider238 thank you for being so responsive - much appreciated! and since i have your attention 😁: do you have any thoughts on "moxie" (which might be more for kids)? you can probably tell that i am currently researching AI/self-learning etc. toys and if you have any thoughts an other contenders, pls LMK... oh and btw: since vector 2.0 is iffy, i have ordered 'my' emo... (yes, despite the looong wait you mentioned.)
@@zeitentgeistert4324 I've never heard of Moxie. I'll have to check it out. Vector is still the best if you're willing to pay the subscription. Plus he's had his release date delayed as well.
I think emo is amazing but he has kinda copied vector with the design and weather animations but he is amazing! I really want one for my vector to make friends with
Vector is for sure the best robot for now but he's also had a three year jump start. I do think Emo will give Vector a run for his money though. Digital Dreamlabs needs to get busy and release Vector and Cozmo 2.0 as soon a possible or Emo is going to leave them in the dust if they're not careful.
Very mad at Digital Dream Labs. By the way, they didn't make Vector and Cozmo, that was Anki. After Anki went bankrupt, Digital Dream Labs took the project to themselves, and overall made everything kinda boring and unfun. Anki would never sue, unless it was really important. (Vector and Cozmo were products before, which makes me wonder why Vector is back up on kickstarter)
Yes I misspoke at the beginning of the video but I later elaborate when I'm showing Vector about the story of Anki. I'm actually thankful for DDL. If it wasn't for them, Vector and Cozmo would basically be dead. I'm mad at Anki for squandering their money away. They made a fortune on Vector and Cozmo and then later claimed that a deal with a large investor fell through and that's what caused their demise. So what happened to all their money that they needed a "large investor" to keep them afloat? Either way I think we would have ended up paying for a subscription as once the sales of Vector and Cozmo slowed down, Anki would still need money coming in to keep updates and servers running. I do think that Digital Dreamlabs needs to get the lead out and start producing the new Vector and Cozmo 2.0 robots though. It's taking them too long and Emo here is going to steal all their sales if they don't get crackin'. Plus the Butterbot is taking too long as well.
@@13Js0 Well I guess we'll have to wait and see. DDL had some understandable delays thanks to covid and microchip shortages. They also have live online updates with invite only panels where they discuss the latest news.
He is pricey. So is Vector and Cozmo. There's new versions of those two coming out soon. I'd say they're worth it though. Playing the Modern Ludo game is worth it alone. I'm trying to discover how to get those Lifetime awards.
I don't know if the devs said anything about it, but i guess his headset comes off cuz they are going to sell other accessories, maybe something like a halloween hat and some new behaviors/visual effects for each new accessorie.
Oooo!!! That would be great! I've wondered why his headphones were removable since it doesn't serve any purpose but that makes total sense. Thank you for the info!
@@outsider238 I used to do frelance as an illustrator and digital artist, there was a job that i got to create concepts of accessories for a toy, it had conectors just like his headset, to turn on some lights. The moment you took his headset off, i had some flashback LOL.
These guys are SO cute! My mom says they're WAY to expensive though...I might get for my birthday, but again, I'm also wanting an Ipod, nintendo lite, and a nintendo lite case (cat one).Ok, back on track. THEY'RE JUST SO CUTEEE!!!
I really want a Emo for my birthday! He is so cute and big the toy i exactly needed to play and not get bored!Nice job on the headphones and the faces living AI! But there is something that maybe you can add as a update that when you ask him the whether he can tell the degrees not just cloudy or rainy?
They've since added an update where Emo tells you the temperature. But I wish they'd make it where you can have it either in degrees or Celsius by choosing it in the app. Right now he only does Celsius.
