What is your recommendation for adding more friction to the 8? I weigh 190lbs and in testing with my GF she couldn't hold me with our 9mm rope. I know there are several ways to add friction but is there some preferred way? I looped the rope a second time around the small end of the 8 and that created enough friction but not sure if there are drawbacks to that?
if still need if you are rapelling down from a figure 8 you can put a second carabiner next to your figure 8 and put your rope though it. this then adds friction as you have an extra carabiner. "break carabiner" if you wanne call it that
Not a ‘fast to release’ system configuration and the station must be a stable area that the operator can comfortably be positioned directly next to the block.
