Well if he was travelling the timeline, couldnt he have just walked right into HQ and picked up the original shield when he went back to be with his girl? I mean they did give it to him the first time round anyway. Is he not just repeating a step that has taken place already? Time can be more fluid than you might imagine. If you are just repeating a step that you have already taken, its not really going to change anything is it? I think this is where the paradox problem sort of comes into play. in theory you never want to meet yourself in the past. When that event accidentally occurs, you are taking a step you potentially havent repeated before. But I dont know the outcome of such event, thus it may or not have consequences. I dont know whether I believe in the grandfather paradox at all. I dont feel that you could make any severe changes that way. From your perspective, everything has already occured and thus cant be changed anyway. So you going back to that point would not make much difference. They joke and talk about this sort of issue in Endgame with the Ancient one, but she promotes the similar theory of unknown steps having dire consequences. Unfortunately there is no definitive proof beyond what they speculate. Hulk backs up this theory a little, but ultimately the event has occured/will occur. He is going to take this step, or already has. He made the choice, even if he isnt aware of that particular choice while he was making it. When Steve comes back, nothing has changed, except he is older and he has a new shield, which would support the theory that he couldnt make any large changes not really only small ones were possible. It is all theoretical though. Still interesting though.

I absolutely appreciate that scene, and what it stands for, but every time I hear Tom Holland say "I dunno how you're gonna get through all that" I can't help but think, "Dude did you really not just see her singlehandedly destroy Thanos's giant ass ship in like 3 seconds!?"

He had plenty of time, even in this time, to go to Wakanda and have them make a new vibranium shield, sometime after the events of Civil War or even after the events of Black Panther. Not that that's necessarily what he did, but it's a simple solution that doesn't require any additional time jumps.

Exactly. Cap realized he could lift it in AoU and stopped himself because he's humble. It would embarrass himself to be viewed as somehow superior to the others

erff people are so entitled. they all forgot we had to wait 10years to see thanos, and now when a movie isnt endgame2, its automaticly "the worst mcu movie". Also, a lot of them choose to ignore disney+ shows when they are better than 90% of the movies and got way more impact, especially loki. Also, some of them think that endgame was supposed to be the end and now its just disney being greedy, when endgame was just end of phase 3

@@77SBCR Absolutely, and to be honest you have to give Marvel their props they gave us 5 shows & 3 movies this year alone, regardless of which ones a person liked or didn't like they were all quality shows. Literally while some of are waiting between seasons on shows like "The Boys" & other shows we got non-stop content from Marvel.

Actually, "Spider-Man: Far From Home" is the final movie in Phase 3, and that came after "Avengers: Endgame", so he's not quite up to Phase 4 yet. One more movie to go.
