Hey Sunshines ☀️ Doing those last couple of vlogs really inspired me to go through and finally put this pregnancy and delivery vlog together. Most of this footage has not been seen since it was filmed and I had completely forgot about it. This was also my first time watching my delivery video in full. Whew! I will say that despite things not working the way that I desired, God’s hand was still knitting every detail together perfectly the way He sought to, and it all worked out for our good. He’s a good, good Father. 🙏🏽 We’re so thankful and blessed to have our tribe. My prayer is that this video encourages you to see the beauty in your disappointment, to see a glimmer of light when darkness comes, or even to shift your mindset when you feel burdened because God has not failed you. 🤍
I’ll also preface this by saying that I put a lot of effort, thought, fasting, and prayer into planning for a VBAC. Some resources that really helped me were reading my Bible daily and encouraging myself with scriptures to help combat fear and anxiety. I listened to worship music so that I was filling myself up with things of the Lord (His beauty, power and goodness), so that my focus wouldn’t be on my circumstances. I also purchased the Christian Hypnobirthing app, which was so helpful, with Christian meditations to help with overcoming fear, breathing, scripture, and assisting with relaxation and meditating on God. So, even though I did not get the VBAC experience I was hoping for, all of these things came into place beautifully. I was able to manage my anxieties and fears of not experiencing what I hoped for, I still used the breathing techniques and relaxation methods when I was in labor, and I was filled with reminders of God’s goodness from the worship music and scriptures, so I didn’t allow the disappointment to take or keep me in a negative space. God still gets the glory, for He redeemed my first traumatic birth story and for that, I’m so grateful.
