A Jak Jones would have beaten him as well. Kyren has put in the work and made the sacrifices needed to win. Jimmy didn't.

White was perfectly capable of beating Hendry, if he'd put the work in.

Jak Jones scored twelve 50+ breaks. I bet Jimmy didn't do that in any of those finals vs Hendry

He has probably earned enough money before this to pay them back already. He has been a top 16 player for last 6 or 7 years. Just winning it and being world champion is the ultimate payback and the reason they sacrificed.

@gamblinggod960 Yes that's what I meant when I said about paying them back mate. I wasn't talking financially, I was referring to the fact that he's world champion, how that made all their sacrifices worth it. As you say he's been a top player for a while now and he's earned decent money through prizes and sponsorship, endorsement deals etc. I saw an interview with him at home a few years ago and his house is very nice with a full size snooker table and a couple of decent cars in the drive,so I'm sure as you say ,financially he's been able to pay them back a few years ago ( that's even if they wanted it back,he is their son so as parents they've supported him for love and not money ) But the real payback is to show them that it was all worth it,he's now a world champion and every sacrifice was more than worth it

I've always said technically he's one of the best in the world with the potential to be the best. I've just always questioned if or not he had that killer instinct to win that makes a real champion. I still do question it to some degree but I hope he goes on from this. He has every right to lift that trophy 3 or more times.

@@gordoncockfield It's a known issue with him, this is why he's seen therapists. He's almost too much of a nice guy to be a prolific champion. He cried when he went through on a fluke against McGill. Very nice, but if that was Hendy or O'Sullivan they put their hands up to apologise but inside they're laughing their fucking arses off about it. He needs to be more stone cold killer type to emulate what previous people with his natural ability have done

i am a big ronnie fan but if he can't win kyren is one of the good guys you hope wins it...i agree with all the things you said he is also a top player

This is true but you've still gotta take your chance when it's there. The other semi finalists will have fancied winning it as well.

Neil was nearly beaten by Gould though, 11 5 down but ended up winning 13 12 iirc. Kyren waon all his matches pretty comfortably. His run was more comparable to Ronnie 's path in 2022.

McGill was missed this year, he often has a good WC.

Ronnie isnt a consistent WC winner. He only won 2 back to back. When he’s on form of course he’ll usually win it.

@@johnmc3862 Jak Jones is 30 years old, and he had one ranking quarter final before this year's world championship. He has won less than half of his career professional matches and his break building stats are abysmal... So yes, he is slightly above amateur level, which still makes him a pro player, but a very, very unimpressive one. Like i said, he played the tournament of his life, but he was extremely lucky that none of his oponents before the final showed their best form, they were all struggling. Even Kyren Wilson didn't play very good and was leaving him way too many chances, yet he still beat him. Seriously, if you're going to defend him, watch the matches first. Not all finalists are deserved ones all the time, get that into your thick skull.
