The mortal remains of Captain Brijesh Thapa was brought to his hometown in Darjeeling’s Lebong on July 18. The Indian Army gave a ‘Gun Salute’ to the brave soldier who lost his life in the Doda encounter in the presence of his mourning parents. A huge number of citizens of Darjeeling followed the convoy which carried the mortal remains as a mark of respect. Four Indian Army soldiers, including Capt Thapa were killed in action during an encounter with terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Doda on July 15. As per officials, the last rites of Captain Brijesh Thapa would be would be performed on July 19 by the Army.
