I'm so glad the 2nd stylist offered to help and even stayed late to make sure you were happy. That's just so respectful and kind!! You look great with the new look too !!
@@romano968 Seems like you're pretty alone in that thought VS the nearly 4k people that liked/agreed with my comment. So ... idk. Maybe you need to sort your thoughts out and figure out why you think of a kind gesture as some one being a doormat. Js
@@TheSailorDogMom it's about how i word it sorry. At first one there was no dimension and anything and it was so bland and muted looking. But 2nd one has some depth and it adds some kinda warmth i think. But i paid too much attention so i can get that it's not visible. I also dye my hair myself and no one gets it even if i don't think it's good
The second stylist just used a balayage technique to highlight the ends in a gradient. I truly believe the first stylist could have done the same. The color looked great in the first one but the lighter ends are what’s popular right now (for like the past 8 years). I truly believe the first stylist was just trying to keep the hair as healthy as possible through the chemical process. If you have a background of hair loss and the goal is to protect the hair you have to go the long route of lightening so then you’re not frying the hair so much at one time. I truly feel like the first stylist had nothing but her best interests in mind while trying to give her what she wanted.
@its_me_luv6941 she did what the customer wanted, she just misunderstood that the client didn't actually want a protective style. How tf is she supposed to know based of the information the client gave? Read her mind?
@@e-qvlant Ur contradicting urself in that comment. How can she give what the client wanted when she misunderstood that the client didn’t want a protective style? She clearly didn’t give the client what she wanted. How do u know what exact information was given at the time? This is an overview of the story so clearly it leaves a lot of information out. When someone is recovering from a disease like this the stylist would have had a consultation. As a stylist it’s up to u to get all the information you need. If the stylist could not give the client what she wanted she should have said so. If as u said she did know and just decided not to in order to protect the clients hair she’s still in the wrong. U need to be upfront if ur not comfortable w doing something. This is what you’d call a misunderstanding it’s not the stylists or the clients fault entirely but the stylist is still at fault bc it’s not what the client wanted. And the client is at fault for not explaining it in a way the stylist would understand.
@its_me_luv6941 The customer explained that she was having issues with hair loss and wanted a protective style. Therefore the hair stylist gave her a protective style. The customer actually wanted highlights, which inherently are not protective which is why the 1st hair stylist didn't give her highlights. Therefore the hairstylist gave the customer what the customer wanted (as in what she originally requested), and the customer hadn't actually requested what she really wanted because she asked for a protective style while wanting bleach. Those two things don't go together. Therefore the hair stylist gave the customer what she expressed she wanted, because the hair stylist can't read her mind and telepathically understand that the customer is contradicting herself. The hairstylist didn't decline the request because based on the information she was given, the request itself, that the customer wanted protective and gave a sample photo, she provided those exact requests in her style. It's not her fault that her customer doesn't understand her own request. It's literally like going into a McDonald's and asking for a CHEESEburger with NO CHEESE, or a hamburger ADD cheese. Or going to a nail salon and asking for a square nail, but round oval. You can't explain wanting a protective style, ask for a protective style, and then get pissy when your hair stylist gives you a protective hairstyle that looks like your sample photo, but protective. As for where I got the "details", use context clues hun. This is an overview of the story, but there's information throughout the story that points to the misunderstanding being from the customer incorrectly requesting a protective style when that's not actually what she wanted. If you'd like to claim that I can't make an educated opinion based on said context clues, you can't either (because that's also what you're doing in your argument). It's the pot calling the kettle black 😉.
@@e-qvlant At no point in that video did the client ever say she wanted a protective style. She said she was ‘very specific abt how she wanted her colour’ done. Which means it wasn’t protective and I think ur using the phrase protective style wrong. It’s abt causing as little damage as possible which is the same for every single client u get in ur chair. I’m a stylist myself if someone is booked in for foils or a colour it’s not abt a protective style. It’s abt trying to damage the hair as little as possible while still getting the end results the client wants. That’s where the first stylist failed and the second was successful. If u can’t do what ur client wants u need to tell them. Bc the stylist didn’t say that I’m going to assume there was a miscommunication. But please, tell me exactly where the client said she wanted a protective style.. I’ll wait.
I love how your first stylist try her best, and when she realized what she was doing was not right, she stopped and got a second opinion. It’s a really admirable thing to reach out to someone else in the same field and ask for there help because you were unable to make the client 100% happy great job to these stylists❤❤
Yes, it’s just hair but / however you are paying for a service and it should be the way you want it. There are people all of the country that can do hair and extensions. You don’t have to keep going back to FL. It just requires a little effort, research and planning on your part to find a salon / stylist in the areas that you guys are traveling through. Wishing you healing and wellness. 🙏💝
I think it's the part about having to explain the actual problem each time. And of course when things like this video happens it can be even harder to trust a stranger will get it right the next time.
Picture references are usually better then just “explaining” as a hairstylist I could see and feel both sides of the coin. Miscommunication can be fixed on both sides.
Agreed, sadly even with photos sometimes they still go rogue XD I always brought photos and one stylist literally razored off my hair when I said I wanted to keep the exact length that I already had more than once. To be more specific I was basically getting most of my hair cut short EXCEPT for my bangs. I hate my eyes and always keep my bangs long to cover them. I've even had that stylist quite a few times previously as well. Unfortunately, she started with the bangs and as I said she just razored them off and I freaking cried.
Wow. This is so gross. This video really says more about what kind of person you are, than what it says about the stylist. You said yourself that you are sure it was a communication error, so there wasn’t any intent to do it wrong, or a lack of skill. You then proceed to very, very publicly criticise her whilst showing her on camera. Also, the majority of the time when someone says it was a communication error, they are acknowledging that they didn’t explain it properly in the first place. Even if that isn’t true and they misunderstood, what I’m saying still stands. You could have quite easily put a video together where it doesn’t show her face, or better yet, not make the video at all. It isn’t a particularly important video, or a very memorable one that people are going to get large amounts of enjoyment from. It’s another tedious life update that no one really asked for. Imagine how that stylist feels. Turning an embarrassing situation into a very public embarrassing situation. I’m not saying don’t complain when your hair isn’t as you want it. We should all be able to leave a salon/barber with the hair cut/colour that we want. But showing the stylist on camera after criticism of her is a real nasty dick move. Shame on you. I hope other stylists see this and choose not to take you on as a client.
Ok but first all how would you know if the stylist didn't want her face shown you are not her and you should get what you paid for its not always the client fault that the stylist just can't communicate and comprehend and another thing we do anything for a little cash but you don't know her at all you saying all the bull crap but you don't know anything about her you see what you want because this is the internet don't judge a book by its cover until you've seen it personally we never know what people are going through but we don't have to leave nasty comments also do we
I think we overreacted but I’m happy you got the result you were looking for. You didn’t seem comfortable at all with the first stylist since she started. I don’t think she did a bad job, I think you just didn’t work well with her. You should of protected her identity because this could effect her career. At the end of the day she still catered to your needs.
@@kwonsmommy at the end of the day she still got what she wanted at that establishment and they tried to make her feel comfortable as possible. Other places would just take your money and send you home. Hair is temporary.
Can someone explain what the first stylist did wrong please? Also, how specific are you talking? Did you show her pictures and she just did her own thing anyways? We need context.
The first outcome was very cool and ashy, it didn't compliment the existing highlights and from the looks of it the roots didn't quite coincide. The second outcome was more golden, bright, and the highlights were pulled through more fetchingly. Neither was better or worse imo but they are very different results in my eyes and clearly the client (who is paying for this service) wanted something closer to the second outcome.
@@riohoney6 I seriously just think her hair was just wet in the first shot that's why it looks darker/more cool. I've played it back several times and truly can't see that big of a difference at all
Respectfully, the color is VERY different at the end compared to the beginning in terms of color and highlights/low lights. It's not one solid tone. The first color is lighter and washed her out more.
@@lovinavargas-carriedo2698 yea, I'm surprised at all the comments saying there is no difference. But alas, I can pass all the red, blue and etc tests where the hue and color is only slightly different... I have good depth perception, so I wonder if it might be that. To me there is a huge difference. But I do think she should have blurred the first girls face.
The first outcome was very cool and ashy, it didn't compliment the existing highlights and from the looks of it the roots didn't quite coincide. The second outcome was more golden, bright, and the highlights were pulled through more fetchingly.
As someone who used to be a hairstylist one of my pet peeve’s was someone constantly touching and picking in their hair while I’m trying to do it! Like GIRL! I know the first stylist was waaay more than happy to get you outta her chair 😂😂😂😂
I don’t think she was shaming her, just showing a day in her process through treatment if u will. She literally said it was a communication error on her end and wasn’t upset ab it
I totally understand being emotional about hair. I dont have EDS, but i am disabled with a big ole handful of conditions, and because of one of them, ive had to be on a med for decades that makes my hair fall out. My hair used to be so full, but now its suuuuper thinned out, and my hair has always been my favorite part of myself🤷♀️ i have been taking olly gummies for over 6 months now, and my hair doesnt fall out as much as it used to, but idk if itll ever be the same. Sending you love hugs, all the good vibes, and ofcourse my extra spoons❤
Ur hair is so pretty!! Ur such a good mom and I think you go through to much and really do a good job at dealing with it! Everything will be okay and never let anyone discourage that ❤️ thank you for ur influence and again love ur hair!
Getting emotional over hair is absolutely okay. It’s literally a huge thing that most of us love and value. I’m glad they stayed and fixed your hair because it turned out great ❤
love this look and love that this place has such professionalism to rectify a mistake! for those of you that may be confused i believe the issue was with the highlights and the lighter tone being so close to her roots, with regrowth and if hair is thinning or unpredictable, this style can be harder to maintain and can also amplify the appearance of regrowth and thinning (lighter hair can give the appearance of lighter hair, highlights closer to the forehead can also give the forehead a bigger appearance, especially if someone has thinner hair at the front of their head). with cooler tones, it can help give the hair a fuller look while also not requiring as much touch up or maintenance! it DOES make a difference and i’m happy that this mama was able to get the look she was after as it’s stunning! let’s not forget how much we ourselves can magnify something in our minds - when we want something to look a certain way. it’s especially hard to speak up at a lot of hair salons so even if it’s “minor”, we should always speak up, and as mama said, there was a miscommunication (which happens) - especially if you’re paying for it!
this makes me so mad this is honestly a karen who has nothing better to do then cry over her hair just to get attention like bffr it was a mistake pat for it and get out of the shop.
@@hereforthebuffoonery yeah I’m no kid and I pay for my own things and would never complain and show someone’s face like that. Completely unnecessary to try to hurt her career like that especially when there’s a huge chance the miscommunication wasn’t the stylists fault.
It looks like she asked for a smudge root or grown out look with the darker toner and low lights and the stylist did a tap root and baby lowlights which wasn't as dramatic but alot of clients legit ask for the wrong thing because they mix up the terms they "heard" on the internet. I feel bad for the 1st stylist having her face shown when we only have the client side of the situation.
@@gabriellelouise999 no she hasn’t done it yet but once she moves she doesn’t want to have to fly back and get them done every 6 weeks. That’s what she meant
I am a hairstylist and I have several clients from other states that plan trips back just when they're getting their hair done. It's like any other service, once you find someone that works for you, it's hard to replace them.
That's good customer service. And good for the first stylist for not being defensive and upset but instead bringing someone else in who can give the client what they are wanting. Sometimes mistakes happen and that first stylist will have learned something from the experience and do better in the future!
This exactly I’m still scared to say anything to stylist If I don’t like it cuz when I was a teen a lady cut my hair 4 inches to shorter then I wanted cuz she was distracted talking to a co worker and when I started crying she started yelling at me told me it was my fault
Hey-it’s really a pretty color. It looks soft & naturally kissed by light. The stylist is actually superb for taking the follow up instructions to make her client happy rather than taking it personally or making it about her. Really a nice turnaround!
First you look absolutely beautiful and the hair looks so good. Second the first stylist could see your distress and she immediately became distressed. The second stylist could see how much you needed your hair to be what you wanted and needed. The first one could as well so stepping back and letting the other stylist rescue both of you was what a good stylist does. You were blessed with stylists that didn't let ego get in the way.
Why do we have to literally share EVERYTHING on the internet? Your hair looked exactly the same and I bet the hair stylist you filmed and posted I imagine without her consent doesn’t appreciate this. Why do we have to film every moment of our lives?
I think the first stylist was trying to save the hair you have left, wouldn't be surprised if it started to break off. It was only a little bit lighter
It looks the exact same but just curled my mom a hair dresser and you should never jerk away or start being dramatic about it just ask nicely to change some things and it will be fine, getting a whole mother stylist to do the same thing with very little difference definitely can ruin the first stylist day and it probably did , if u were you I would just not go back to the hair salon.(no hate)
Agree. After watching my mom lose all her hair during chemo and my own really thinning hair over a surgery that caused nutritional deficits you are right. It is only hair. I’d give anything for thick lustrous hair again. Ain’t ever gonna happen.
The second stylist literally added TWO foils in her hair and most likely toned it slightly differently Lmfao and curled it. If someone’s unhappy with their hair and let’s me know that’s all well and good and I do appreciate it but if someone jerks away while im literally trying to dry them to pick at their hair I really do lose patience 😭 but I also tell my clients they aren’t allowed to cry 😂 just use your words, we are all grown and I’m more than happy to fix your hair but no meltdowns allowed
This is why I quit women’s hair and now I’m a barber. Women are highly anxious highly stressed when it comes to their hair and it wasn’t worth the anxiety this would put upon the stylists. I always had to fix other stylists mistakes and miscommunication but at the end of the day it was the client not explaining properly or knowing what they really wanted. Highly stressful environment. Men would never pull any of this stress upon the stylists. And not to mention the end results looked exactly the same !!!
same, people are really bad at communicating what they want and are pretty delusional about whats possible. I didn't finish my license because the industry is toxic as hell too, both spiritually and chemically
It’s not silly to get upset about your hair! My hair is almost like a security blanket. It is so much of our physical identity. It makes us feel good when our outward appearance looks the way we like. I love the end result! So glad she stayed to make sure you were completely satisfied! You look beautiful!
It looks so good and healthy. I love that you told your experience without saying negative things about the first stylist. The second stylist was very sweet for staying late.❤
As a stylist who can’t make money off you, I’ll recommend that you steer clear of hair extensions because they can pull more hair out. Your hair does look totally fine on its own, cutting it shorter gives it more volume, as you can already see. Just use cold pressed castor oil for at least half hour before shampooing your hair, mix in rosemary essential oil and black pepper essential oil into the castor oil. Shampoo 2-3 times with a clean natural shampoo, condition only from mid shaft to ends.
I agree with not doing the extensions however if she has a connective tissue disease, multiple washings is what she should be avoiding as most connective tissue problems usually involving compromised collegen and most medications promote hair loss. The usually tell us to wash our hair less
Wow you look amazing! 💯 🔥💥 It looks so full, stylish, and soft. It's like night and day compared to before, suits you beautifully! You go girl for letting them know they did the exact opposite, and making sure you left there with what you asked, and paid for. It really does look fabulous😍🤩
I feel you on the trying not to cry. I went to get my hair done for graduation and my hair does NOT hold curl (especially if a curling iron is used). The girl doing my hair was super sweet, but she had to curl my hair twice before I left. When I was done I walked out to my car and tried not to cry as I called my sister to see if she could help me. (I am an introvert, and don't like talking to people or confrontation) Everything worked out in the end, but it was an emotional rollarcoaster.😁
It's lighter on top in the first, my mum has alopecia, I have super thin hair. My mum tried everything. It broke my heart as a young girl, I can see the same look in your face. It's about how it makes you feel, It's very emotional, and the difference is noticeable and important between first stylist and second. Because you believe it is. It's no one's fault but I'm happy you stuck up for what you needed💕 what people don't realise is saying it's not a big deal or noticeable is invalidating. You look gorg, hair or not. You are gorgeous and your new do looks so healthy and filled out with the shadow root 💗
It’s totally okay to care about your hair, it’s a part of you and the way most people express themselves :D It turned out amazing the people in the salon were so kind!
Girl I WISH I had the guts to say something about my hair, I’ve had it done twice the last three months and it’s literally a disaster. I’m losing hair in the front now and it turned out nothing like I wanted. I still cry over it.
Please, please tell your stylist that you’re not happy with your hair color most of the time if you tell them it’s something that’s easily fixable. But if you have already communicated to her the issues and it hasn’t changed, then don’t waste your money honey and tell her that you think she’s awesome but you need to find someone who you better communicate with.
For the people who say they can't notice a difference, the first one looks like a mousy blonde, the second one is more of a mousy blonde with highlights. The first color didn't look that great imo, and the second one looked more dimensional. Obviously women are more aware of the colors on their own head than other people are... She shouldn't have showed the first stylist face though.
You were diagnosed with EDS??? I haven’t found anyone talk about it, I have IIH as well as possibly EDS! It’s so important I’d love to hear your story on this if you’re able to! It’s a tough journey and the more info that gets out the better ❤
As a stylist I personally see the 1st result has quite a bit of the lighter pieces/highlights going to the root. Her overall roots look lighter compared to the 2nd result...they looked more blended down as a shadow root and then she had the highlighted dimensional pieces in her mids and ends. Tone is a hard thing...no 2 people see It the same. But it does play a big impact overall.
Have you ever mentioned this to your hair stylist? If not, you def should. Have they never shown you exactly how to use the products that they are using on your hair before? If not, that’s a bummer imo. Because they could be selling you some great products hopefully for you to use at home. And giving you some tips or instructions on how to use them yourself. I went to hair school and have a cosmetology license. I don’t work in a salon anymore. But it’s very rare for someone to be able to do their own hair in the same exact way a stylist can. Simply due to the angle someone else can work at as opposed to you doing it yourself. But I would def say something next time you get your hair done. A great hair stylist will have no problem helping you achieve a similar look at home with the right tools, technique and products.
Idk about you but I quit going to salons at 16 when my hair kept getting ruined and no one could ever do it correctly. Now I’ve stopped going to mail salons for the same exact reason. I just can’t get my hair and nails done.
It's not just hair, there are emotional connections to the loss. I had chemo and it was the most emotional part on the cancer eradication journey as it zapped all of my hair. It's great that the 2nd stylist met your needs.
Natural hair no matter how thin feels best & honestly LOOKS best. Most with extensions is extremely noticeable unless styled right daily. You look AMAZING
Thank you so much for being vulnerable 🥺 we ALL have been there. It truly is not JUST hair. It's your Identity ✨ I've definitely completely shut down and cried myself to sleep from a bad hair cut before (it's wasn't even bad, it just wasn't my style)
Girl it is just fine to get emotional when you are getting your hair done. It's a big change, good job not freaking out and bless that other stylist who helped you!! 💓 Love the end look!!
Getting your hair done is a VULNERABLE experience. You’re trusting someone to have full control over an aspect of your life that affects how you look and how you feel. If it isn’t going correctly, it makes total sense to feel awful about it. Total sense. I do my own hair and do you know how QUUUICKLY I’ll take a hairstyle out if I hate it? Baby I will stay up all night getting it right if I have to.
Your hair looks great the 1st and 2nd time both stylists wear great. pictures will be great and useful for the stylist next time so you won’t have to go through those emotions, realize that this is a service and it was done twice so I hope you tipped the first stylist very well due to miscommunication and misunderstanding (pictures would solve that issue) it was an honest mistake, she removed your installation and performed a hair coloring service (start to finish) The 2nd stylist did an excellent job and I’m glad she was able to have you walk out with a smile. Our insecurities tend to rube off as being rude so be mindful of that so others won’t feel insecure as well due to being human and making an honest mistake Just like you personally want someone to take care of you, please realize you have to do that same thing to others At the end of the day you and 20,000 others are experiencing the same thing so probably finding a group to help will prevent you from publicly belittling this stylist
I think every woman has at least once cried after getting there hit /nails done cuz they were not any you expected/ paid for Just some of us are to shy to say anything
Girlfriend, trust me when I tell you it's okay to get upset. You were not being a pest by getting or asking for what you want. And, the short hair looks great ❤
Whilst I agree with you, if the girl getting her hair done was a decent, compassionate person, the stylist wouldn’t have needed to say anything in the first place. A decent, compassionate person wouldn’t have uploaded this video at all.
You should never feel silly about getting upset when something you’re paying for isn’t done right. Best way is to stay respectful of course. And it was nice of the other lady to stay late to fix it
because some people are emotional about things that are important to them. It's clear you don't understand how stress and new medications can affect emotions and hormone balances.
