Ariana was on the Nickelodeon show “Victorious” but her origins are Broadway. She was a part of the original cast of the musical “13” when she was like 15 years old. Shawn saying “the talent is just so disgusting” and Thomas saying “she came out the womb singing lol 😂 She really is amazing.

Mariah Carey possess a 5 octave range vs Ariana Grande's 4. They're both renowned for whistle tone. This is most definitely a far better recording than the original there are a lot of years of recording tech seperating them and I do prefer Ariana's tone. Having said that Mariah is a better singer.

@@GrandeStyles566 I'd say almost five. She has an incredibly high tessitura, but I do agree that her lows are freaking amazing. The only way I can see her having five is if she manages to consistently whistle in the lower eighth octave.

PLEASEE react to mariahs either the studio version of this song (which sounds exactly like arianas cover cuz ariana didnt rlly change anything) apart from mariahs voice being stronger, or mariah live at Mtv Unplugged version of this song which is considered one her best live performances of this song with good quality, because theres many other better performances of this song where mariah is a her peak but the audio quality is horrible, just a fun fact.🔥❤️

Btw vocally and technically, mariah carey IS superior to ariana as she has better agility in her voice like riffs and runs, melismas, and transitions, she also has better lows because her range is wider, better whistle register, and better resonance and power. Although ariana IS amazing I just think yall havent heard mariahs full potential live in her peak years lol.

Y’all bring up technique but Mariah vocals were in shambles when she was Ariana age and that was only after doing 20-30 shows during her Daydream era. Ariana Broadway training clearly helped her preserve her vocals while she did over 100 shows during her Sweetner era.

@@emekajohnson2630This is NOT true AT ALL💀. Ariana during sweetner STILL barely ever supported above D5 and strained MANY of her F5s-G#5s. Also her whistles were never as good as mariahs, she can barely every go just below the 7th octave. Lastly Mariah has better enunciation, resonance, agility, breath control, stamina, and dynamics, so idk wtf ur point is here when mariah is LEGIT a straight upgrade from almost anything ari has done.

@@emekajohnson2630also Mariah still supported up to her E5s-F#5s/G5s BEFORE Daydream era. And her low notes too. Actin like Music Box and Merry Xmas eras werent part of her prime💀. Even before Music Box, in debut era her voice was the highest naturally which meant everything wad easy for her, the ease in her voice was insane and in Emotions era she could support way higher than debut due to improved technique. Its actually insane u compare ari to mariah even current ari STILL doesnt compare to prime mariah. And actually if we were to compare them at the same age, Mariah would end that battle quick lol.

Also Ariana has supported above D5 especially during her Position/ Wicked era to which I’m comparing. Now we can compare Mariah’s raspy tired Butterfly era vocals vs Ariana’s Position vocals but y’all not ready for me to get nasty. Mariah peaked during her Daydream era while Ariana vocals are aging like fine wine.
