One thing that didn't occur to me until the 3rd watch of this movie: all of the characters in Riley's mind ARE Riley. When the emotions interact and argue, that's Riley struggling with herself. Joy bullying sadness is her own attempt to suppress that part of herself. The little blobs are small parts of her subconscious. This includes Bing-Bong. His self-sacrifice is part of her character, and an aspect of her childhood personality making way for her to move on and grow up.
I like this woman. There's something about her non verbal language that feels really natural and honest. There's some uncommon lack of filters there. Interesting reactions.
*Inside Out* is a movie that gets me every time I see it. When I watched it in the movies with my wife I cried 3 times. This movie just hits me in the perfect spot, in a way no other one does. Even watching your reaction got me again. Thanks for sharing this one with us!
This reminded me of an American sit-com from the early '90s called Herman's Head. We would see all aspects of his psyche played out as characters, and how they either influenced or reacted to his behavior. "Angel" (love, sympathy), "Wimp"(anxiety, fear) "Animal" (primal urges..hunger, lust, anger) "Genius" (intellect, rationale).
4:34 "Just don't touch any other memories until we figure out what's going on." Don't tell her _that._ Sadness is a fundamental _emotion,_ and a _healthy_ reaction when one experiences tragedy or _loss,_ as _Riley_ has recently done. It's not something to be _suppressed_ or _neglected._ You have to _deal_ with it from time to time.
Great reaction! You really seemed into it. Probably the best "Inside Out" reaction I have seen. I personally found it far more beautiful/interesting then sad, though that first double core memory moment gets me every time. Edit: Since people are giving animated tips, let me give one as well. Megamind. It is a bit lesser known, but a masterpiece imo (And I agree with Coco and Wall-E)
The saddest scene Pixar has ever done is in the movie UP. There's a pattern to Pixar themes. What if bugs had emotions. What if fish had emotions. What if cars had emotions. And in this movie, What if emotions had emotions. Great reaction. Thank you.
Land before time has a really sad part in it. for the most part its also a great movie. All these emotions make us human. loved your reaction. When that boys alarm in his head went off saying "Girl", that was also my reaction when I first say you and your reaction lol
I really enjoyed your reaction, I agree with your perspective on sadness from the beginning to end, at first she's frustrating to us, but we come to see that she and all the other emotions are vital. Another animated movie that I'd really recommend for reacting is The Iron Giant, it's a very beautiful story and it's probably one of my all time favorites.
Aria, if you want more "Anger" in your life, check out Lewis Black's famous comedy special, "Red, White, and Screwed." You'll recognize the voice in an instant. Black is considered one of America's grumpiest comedians, but he sure is damn funny with a lot of truth bombs throne! 😂
If you want some great animated films that are just plain fun, I recommend Wallace & Gromit's first three 30-minute claymation shorts: - A Grand Day Out (1989) - The Wrong Trousers (1993) - A Close Shave (1995)
and how much of dreams do you remember? For a very bleak simile, it's sort of like how a dying person often has a fake recover just before their final passing.
