I remember making trams of hay with my dad in the summer of 92 for the last time ever ,I've never seen lose hay saved like that since in Ireland .These guys don't care too much about an oil crisis happening ,they can farm away with out the internal combustion engine .
Everyone asking how to make it it's a double acting ram lever with a solid top and bottom the reason the sides are slats it's so they can tie it up. The little things stuck through the end are copper or steel pipes they keep the bale from getting pushed out the end, when it gets to the end it allows them to really crank the pressure down. They put the strings on the follower before the final close up pull them through the sides. Pass them through the pipes. One kid ties top one bottom. With a trucker's hitch. They pull the pipes after the string is through but before the knot is tied. Then they move the pipes to the front and start stuffing it again.
