For me, Trym is one of the top 5 black metal drummers of all time. Not only for his technique and power but also for his creativity and choice of crescendo which is very very hard to master.
One cool things for us ''drummer'' would be a quick video about your settings, why your snare is so low, how you feel your space... anyway, you are one of the greatest... thanks for uploading those videos during this shitty time... Greatings from Montreal... and thanks again for your last show in Montreal.. was F&#%ing great
I'd kill to hear new stuff by Trym other than the album Shadow of a Thousand Suns from 2008 he recorded with Abigail Williams. He was also amazing in Zyklon (with Samoth) which I coincidentally was recently listening to after 20 years, awesome stuff! On a different topic, I just realized Trym together with Ihsahn and Samoth must have been 20-21 years old when they recorded the Loss and Curse, I was the same age when I heard this stuff for the 1st time, and had recently moved alone to Europe, with the only difference that instead of producing anything magnificent like them, I was just stumbling from one Black Metal party to a Goth party to a concert, sleeping around and puking pretty much everywhere. Now that I’m 43, and sober for a year, I’m trying hard to do something meaningful in life, and my anchor, one of the only few things that keeps me together today and gives me strength, is this music and the mark it’s left on my journey, and my search for purpose, long life to the EMPEROR!!
Metal fan here ,still have Night side on tape . The drummer debates on these videos are endless . Love listening to Trym and Barker and all the rest..Enjoy them all
I've watched this 3 times in a row... and I am not even a drummer!!!! I love the way he uses his hands, just like Mark Zonder - such imagination!!! UNREAL.
Now you can hear all the fills more clearly on the hi-hat and the ride. Everytime I listened to this song it always had good flow and rytm from the fills. If it was me who was in charge I would up the volume mic. for hi-hat and ride for further videos 👍
Ah man hate to say this but you forgot a few, hellhammer, horgh, George kolias, Derek Roddy, Mike Smith those guys are in the same league as the others you mentioned
This is so awesome!! Would you ever consider doing one of these with Enslaved tracks that you have played on? I would die to see you playing Loke! Ps: Any chance to find out how that tom sound was archieved on Frost? Its such an iconic sound.. Hails from Austria
Really love how innovative the patterns are compared to a lot of BM drummers, amazing work as usual! It's great that you take the time to make these playthru videos, they are always top notch!
In Longing Spirit please. :) I remember when "Reverence" came out and everyone went ballistic in anticipation of new album. I still have that little CD. :)
@@drummersfromhell666 What do you mean "of course"? ;-) I play Czarcie Kopyto myself and noticed the pedal layout in this video (thats why I asked), but Trym was always known to play Trick. I really thought about buying one a Trick myself, but decided for CK. Any idea what the striking difference is? Never payed Trick, unfortunately. BTW: great channel that you have!!!! Adore it for years!
@@Inexorablehorror I seen Live in 2019. Trym changed company. And CK it's a very characteristics pedals. And big thanks for your opinion for my channel
