Ruyi is the most astonishing character. So smart, yet giving way to her feeling and joining the selection led to a lifetime of suffering. She never cared for power or status, so those rewards meant nothing. Even after she cut her hair, she was only able to bring herself to do it bc she was dying anyways from an illness contracted as a direct result of her husband not protecting her for the sake of politics. I despised him all along.

U can never watch how he torture her. It's so close to home. I watched this drama a lot of time but can't watch when he starts to torture her. All our live we only want to love and we ask for nothing more but when you hurt us repeatedly, we die....
